Announcement    ** Effective October 2018: NEW MAIN ONLINE SHOP CAN BE FOUND AT WWW.GHOSTTOWNMETALWORKS.COM , as I will no longer be adding new listings to this Etsy Shop. Sorry for the inconvenience. I do still use this shop as a communication platform for future custom work, or for sales of items made prior to September 2018. Rock on, Charity **

Hi, there, unique soul! I just wanted to let you know a few things if you're just discovering GTMW!
1) HI! I am so glad you are here and that you are visiting this Ghost Town full of unique, rustic Nevada + Washington + Montana treasures.
2) I MAINLY do custom work- please visit my main website at www.ghosttownmetalworks.com or my business Instagram @ghosttownmetalworks to view what I have been up to! I am mainly self-taught, an constantly learning, and enjoy new challenges. I am in the process of phasing this shop out (though I will keep it open--just minimally stocked), and any *NEW SHOP ITEMS* will be getting added to my official website online shop (mentioned above).
3) I am currently part-time and do this 2 days a week- and am raising a wild (and hilariously intelligent) toddler the other 5 days a week.
4) I add things to my shop when I have the extra time to make them- my work days are mainly dedicated to custom work (not for sale/shop items).
Thank you so much for stopping by! Keep an eye on my shop, send a message if you're interested in a custom piece or have questions, and visit me on social media!

Rock on (With Love),
Charity at GTMW

About

Nevada, Washington State, and Montana - My Three Homes

My name is Charity. Born and raised in rural Nevada, I moved to Washington State for college and never left. I had very limited silversmithing instruction in 2004 ... And always wanted to take it further, but never found the time. Fast forward to Spring 2017: I finally decided the right time to start my smithing dream was NOW! I bought supplies at 2am one night in March- my mind was racing with excitement as I decided I was really going to go for it.
I live in rural Washington with my husband, stepson, 1 year old son, and our Springer spaniel (Archie!). When I am not chasing my young son around, I am slowly reteaching myself metalsmithing/fabrication (thanks to books and YouTube!) and finding my niche. I am honing in my smithing skills, but I'm enjoying the journey and would love to have you enjoy it with me.
I am using Nevada stones (mainly turquoise and variscite), Washington stones (agates, etc), Montana stones, and treasures discovered while exploring these great states. I will be eventually cutting rock that I find on our hikes to use in my designs. I visit Nevada and Montana often.
I am into repurposing, and may sometimes repurpose silver or other materials into my jewelry. Nature, local history, and my art/biology degrees all inspire me. I am also a wife, a mother, a licensed veterinary technician, artist, traveler, and nature freak.
I love rustic things and aim for jewelry with an "old soul" feel, like it has a story to tell. Everything in my shop is one of a kind, and though I may have some similar simple items... I guarantee no two are identical, as I handmake each piece with pride.
Custom pieces can take anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months to be made- depending on complexity and my current work load.
Thanks for taking time to get to know me.
Rock on With Love,
Charity

A Nevada native and a Washington transplant. I'm overly proud of the two states I've called home. A perfect mix of scientist and artist (according to my college degree!), I really enjoy the metalsmithing process on all fronts.

Metal Allergies/Sensitivities

Please be aware of any metal allergies you may have- jewels unfortunately cannot be returned due to allergies. Please contact us with any metal alloy questions prior to purchase. GTMW does have a clear sealant that can be applied to the metal on a piece, but the sealant has a lifespan and will eventually need to be re-applied.
