About

I fell madly in love with hand dying yarn and decided to make it official.

I have named my shop after my great grandmother Gigi Bonin. She was a sweet, stylish French Canadian who fell in love with my great grandfather Aime, the owner of several woolen and spinning mills in Rhode Island. I guess you could say I come by my love of fiber honestly but what really drew me to the idea of opening this shop was my love of all things colorful.....characters, imagination, language and especially yarn. I hope that you will enjoy Gigi Bonin Hand Dyed Yarn. Bonne chance.

Welcome to Gigi Bonin! I thoroughly love hand dyeing great quality yarn and want to share my passion with you. I view color as a touchstone to my past, present and future....certain colors in certain lights at certain times of day can evoke great memories or spark hopeful imaginings of the days ahead.

Please know that all dyes used are environmentally friendly. Spent dyes are disposed of eco-safely and responsibly.

Please know that as the yarns are uniquely hand dyed slight color variation may occasionally occur. This is part of the natural dyeing process.

Additional policies and FAQs
We share our home with two dogs. They could not be less interested in my work and always seem to make themselves scarce when I go to work in the studio.

They have big attitudes when it comes to chasing squirrels but lack any rigor when it comes to dyeing yarn.
