Great product, and even better, detailed customer service & assistance deciding which product & set up was likely to be best.

Can't recommend this product and seller enough. Communication was timely and all questions were answered prior to purchase. The girth was beautiful and in excellent condition. The GirthShield is an amazing product, and is the first of it's kind that directs pressure onto the sternum and away from the horse's sensitive axillary space (arm pits) & rib cage. I've spent the better part of a year trying different types of girths (short, long, padded, covered, wrapped) and everything I tried eventually rubbed my horse's elbows and axilla. Ordered this girth with a GirthShield in place and finally found a solution. Right from the start, his tail and back were up, he stretched into the bit, and was moving beautifully. My saddle, which had a tendency to slide slightly back, stayed beautifully in place. Best part: NO RUBS!!!

About

Happy horse = easy horse. Easy is good.

We're actually not all that interested in retail. But we are very interested in making a difference that riders will appreciate--and the horses appreciate even more.

It's time to stop the grumpy faces! Try a Girth Shield. You both will be happier.
If you want to see some details on how we did this see:
http://girthshield.wordpress.com/the-problem-and-the-solution/

For notes on how to measure please see our pictures. The overall length of your new girth will be two inches longer than one you are happy with now. The width of the shield we put in there for you will depend on your horse. 7-8 inches is average. 7.5 is our default. Anywhere from 6-10 is possible. Too narrow and it will not protect in the correct places. Too wide and you can get elbow infringement in the backward part of the stride. Best to measure.

Welcome to our humble little girth and cinch shop. In it you will find the finished products and prototype models we used to perfect the Girth Shield. The individual offerings are for sale with the advantages and drawbacks clearly pointed out.
(We know nothing is perfect for all horses or all riders.)
We can help you choose what might be best.

The following items can't be returned or exchanged
Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:
  • Custom or personalized orders
  • Perishable products (like food or flowers)
  • Digital downloads
  • Intimate items (for health/hygiene reasons)

If you pay the shipping both ways, you are free to return an item within one month of purchase for a 15% restocking fee. This amounts to a very generous rental program so you can be sure. We want you and the beast to be happy! If the item is unsalable when returned there is a restocking fee of 30% so please be a little careful. If you ask us we can tell you how to go about that. Also there are some of the end trial girths that have been very lightly used that may fit your needs. If you are interested in this please contact us for sizes.
Payment
We accept direct payments through Etsy, Paypal and if you need us to our own credit card system.
Washington State residents in the US will have to fork over 8.9 sales tax
Shipping
Custom orders will take more time than stock items that we show in the shop. Usually we ship in two days unless we are away at a horse show. Shipping cost was calculated as USPS flat rate small sized box. So things will be squashed.
Additional policies and FAQs
Some of our items have been used in testing--this will be clearly stated and the price will reflect this. Used does not mean a failure--if it failed we would have taken it apart and done it again. Keep in mind that some parts of your girth can and may need to be replaced from time to time. (The Girth Cozy for instance, or a felted girth after a while, particularly if you do not use a Girth Cozy.) We are happy to help with this.

Like any new piece of tack we hope and expect that you will monitor your horse's reactions and act in a safe manner. We are not responsible for future equipment failure or any damages incurred due to incorrect training, mishaps or other things more in your control than ours. These are large animals. It is up to you to ensure your safety and your horse's.
