Thanks so much for this amazing little halloween costume! We can tell that it was made with such love and care, right down to the mail satchel. I'll make sure Zosia gets photos of our little boy in it to pass along to the ladies who made it for us. Thank you!!!

About

Hopeful women, striving to support their families through the dignity of work.

Welcome to our shop. Julianne and I (Zosia) were both raised by parents who always helped people. We watched them give their time, talents, and treasures to others. My mother offered free babysitting services of my sister and I every year during the season of Lent, before Easter. (Ok, bad example as we resented that one a bit, but you get what I mean :) Our parents included us in on the giving activities and it became part of our lives and we have attempted to mirror that way of life to our own children.

Julianne and I met about 9 years ago when I joined Build a Miracle (BAM) on a house build trip in nearby Tijuana, Mexico. We both live in San Diego. BAM was founded by Julianne and her husband in 1999, the year that the first home was built, totally by donations as it still is today. To date 250+ homes have been built for families who had been living in very unstable shacks. I doubt that there has been one build day that Julianne has not been brought to tears. It's so emotional to make a difference in someones life. We love these families! Our goal is to provide sustainable homes, promote education and teach trades in the community, in order to break the cycle of hopelessness and poverty. (Please learn more about BAM at www.buildamiracle.net.) You will be so inspired!

In the Community Center of our El Florido neighborhood we have a 10'x15' sewing room with 5 donated sewing machines. We started to teach some of the women how to sew aprons. The women loved it! Our first sale was an auction to the volunteers that came on the house build trip that day in the Spring of 2011. These sweet women, most of whom had no other source of income for their family, received American dollars that day. They became emotional and grateful to have learned a skill that could put food on the table for their families. I was emotional and inspired. I thought, maybe we could continue to bring projects, find places to sell them, and in turn ensure their children would have food in their tummies before they are sent off to school for the day. We slowly added a few other projects. The women have done so well that we were encouraged to take it a step further and open a Etsy shop; GiveAMiracle. 100% of the profit goes directly to the seamstress who made each item.

Thank you so much for looking at our shop and reading our story.

I love my family and friends. I love my Father who has blessed me with so much, the One who places people in my path to challenge my selflesness. I love traveling and learning about culture, shared smiles, REAL hugs, and making a small difference.

Hi. Welcome to our shop with gifts like fashionable aprons for women, men, and children, Hawaiian burlap beach bags, baby wipe cases, and doll gowns. Julianne and I (Zosia) volunteer with Build a Miracle, BAM, a group that builds houses in Tijuana Mexico. Over the years, our hearts were broken by the many women we met who were struggling to feed their children.

Our shop was started to sell handmade items made by these lovely women in Mexico in order to feed their families. 100% of the proceeds goes directly to the woman who handcrafted the item. Personalizing each item is a photo of the seamstress and a brief bio which she wrote about herself. It's nice to put on your frig as a reminder of whose life you have directly impacted. Please take a look at their items and perhaps you'll see something for a gift or for yourself. Thank you so much for your interest.

God's blessings,
Zosia & Julianne
