Announcement   SPECIAL PROMO - BUY ONE LEATHER WRAP BRACELET, AND GET ONE FREE, (OF EQUAL OR LESSER VALUE). PURCHASE 2, AND I'LL REFUND the PURCHASE PRICE OF THE SECOND BRACELET after checkout.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Welcome friends - where the most valuable thing in my shop is you! Please contact me if you see something you like, but prefer in a different color or fabric - a purse with more or fewer pockets, longer or shorter straps, or a particular fabric flower that you'd like in another fabric or color.
All of my bags are of my own design, and while you can purchase less expensive purses elsewhere, please know that all the material in my fabric handbags are made with quality materials. I have high workmanship standards that includes taking extra steps to reinforce pockets, installing my magnetic snaps firmly, and so forth.
You will see that some of my purses are sewn in batik fabrics. I use the highest quality quilt shop batik cotton available. Batik fabric is hand printed, and more expensive - and rarely if ever found at a discounted prices. However, in the long run, fine batik stays young for a long time because it resists wrinkles and fading, and wears like iron. A purse made with fine batik will last for years.
Of note, with rare exception, and unless otherwise noted, the fabrics used in my purses and home dec pieces are pre-washed. Due to my own contact allergies, I'm aware there are others who share similar chemical sensitivities.
And, at any given time, I share my home with one or more retired Greyhounds. They are banned from my sewing workroom, but anyone who is highly sensitive to dogs will want to be aware of this when purchasing fabric goods or clothing.
**Sorry, but I'm not accepting custom orders at this time.
Please note that all my items ship internationally.
About
A work in progress...
I've always loved creating things. Some things were out of necessity for the sake of economy, but I really just love expressing myself with my hands in as many ways possible.
While creating, I thought I might see if anyone else liked my stuff, and I guess some do. Eventually I realized that my background prepared me for this - creativity, necessity, frugality, the love of nice things, and more. Well, I was prepared me for everything but the promotion and sales expertise - that I had to learn on my own and am still learning.
This is an ever evolving adventure, but it's a rewarding one. My creativity has expanded in all directions, from improving my technique to create a better product, writing better listings, improving my photography skills, and all phases that being a one person shop involves.
Of great concern to me is the growing crisis facing our earth, and the threat of waste and toxins that are killing her. I want very much to do my small part in changing that. So, in addition to living the ideal, I'm applying that passion to my work. Eventually my goal is to transition to an all eco-friendly shop. My rag rugs and sustainable / eco totes are the first steps. Stay tuned!
Thanks for visiting - please stop by again to see what's new!
I've always loved creating things with my hands. There is such a sense of satisfaction in making beautiful things of quality that bring pleasure to others!
I humbly share my work with those much more gifted than I, and who lead with awesome inspiration.
Thank you again for stopping by!
Payment
Payment is due upon purchase. I strive to ship items within 24 business hours after payment has been received. Unpaid items will be held in my shop's sold section for 24 hours, and unless I hear from you regarding late payment, the item will be relisted, invalidating the sale. Please contact me if you are having trouble with the payment process, and I'll be glad to help.
I am set up to accept Paypal payments, but buyers can pay with major credit cards even if they aren't paypal users. Under some circumstances, for US paying customers, I will accept USPS Money Orders. Please contact me prior to sale if you have any payment questions.
**Custom orders will not ship until the final payment is received.**
Shipping
My policy is to ship within 24 business hours after payment. If you would like your purchase to go to another address, please contact me immediately upon checkout.
To keep costs down and with the exception of very fragile or expensive jewelry items, I usually ship small jewelry items wrapped securely in bubble wrap and in a bubble envelope and send by USPS First Class mail. I'll happily upgrade to Priority mail at the buyer's request, and in this case, postage will be more.
US mail quotes are now standard for all US destinations. If I've missed updating this in a particular individual listing, I apologize.
International rates are based on Australia delivery, and differences, (overpayments) to other countries will be rounded to the next dollar minus a $5.00 handling fee, and will be refunded.
I ship all my packages by USPS Mail, and generally my listings will state the shipping method, (First Class versus Priority). If you prefer a different shipping method, I'll be more than happy to accommodate you, but please contact me **immediately** upon checkout, because I ship very quickly.
Please note that International shipping can take longer periods of time for delivery, especially USPS First Class Mail, which can take weeks if not months, especially to the UK.
First Class mail is more affordable, but not insurable or traceable as is USPS Priority Mail. Please take this into consideration when selecting shipping for a purchase, or if you would like to request a different shipping method than is offered with the item.
*Because International packages sent by USPS FIRST CLASS MAIL *must* be taken to the Post Office in person and cannot be paid on line, I need to cover those expenses.
USPS Taxes and custom fees / duties or other charges that may be imposed by the receiving country are the responsibility of the buyer.
Refunds and Exchanges
I use sterling silver, vermeil, gold filled, or carat gold for all earwire/hangers, metal spacers and beads, and all bead components are secured with wrapped wires in sterling silver or vermeil. For this reason, my jewelry items should last for a very long time.
If, for any reason, you aren't satisfied with your purchase, please contact me immediately, and before leaving negative feedback, and I'll do everything I can to solve the problem. Your satusfaction is my top priority!
Items must be received by me within 14 days of contact to qualify for an exchange or refund. Return postage is the responsibility of the buyer.
Refunds and exchanges will be issued when the item is received by me in its original, unused condition. The shipping fee will not be refunded. Exchanges will be shipped once the original item is received.
I will NOT refund shipping costs of parcels returned to me as "unclamined" by buyer. The cost of the purchased item will be refunded and will be re-listed only if it's in the original condition.
Many people don't like to purchase hats that have been on a human head. For this reason, my hats have not been modeled on humans or worn prior to sale. Therefore, once a hat is sold, I cannot accept returns.
Lastly, because of the pristine vintage brooches and faceted beads used in some of my dressier handbags, these bags are meant to be "special occasion" bags, and are not intended for hard and heavy everyday use. And, because of the long eyelash yarns used in many of my winter crochet purses, (that would become entangled and worn away in zippers and closures), I haven't used magnetic snaps or zippers in their construction. Please keep this in mind when making a purchase.
CUSTOM ORDERS:
I do accept custom orders, but please understand that because of the extra time required for communication and for locating and purchasing special materials, (the cost of material and time obtaining them), the final price will be more than a ready-to- ship item in my shop. The benefit is that the buyer will get a special, one-of-a-kind item made especially for them.
Also note that if special materials are required, (that I don’t have in stock), I generally cannot predict a precise expense for a custom item until the project is completed. Sometimes a particular material is harder to find, requiring time and/or mileage to locate, and the cost is unknown at the outset. Also, if the requested item requires extra labor, that will figure into the final price.
Due to the time investment, and the uniqueness of custom orders, I require a non-refundable deposit of not less than ½ of the *estimated* final price before the project is started.
