About

GlamGrout is a easy solution to add texture & sparkle to your art.

Hi,
I am Jacqui Ridley the inventor of GlamGrout. I was forced to find an alternative to traditional grout after suffering from a chronic case of hives that would not go away. One Doctor suggested that I discontinue using grout because of the fumes and irritants in the product. That began my journey in trying to create something that was easy to use, non- toxic and would be colorful ( regular grout just did not have enough options for color).
Also ,since I work fairly small I wanted it to be easy to use with tiny beads, pearls etc. I also love texture and sparkle so this really makes my pieces glow.
It took me many years to get the formula and to find the perfect glue that would work with glass, beads and fabric. My glue bonds and seals and never yellows. It works well with other glues and is a great adhesive for paper, glass, fabric, wood, ceramic, beads etc. I hope you love it as much as I do! Jacqui

Drawn to the work of modern quilters and contemporary embroidery artists, I began interpreting their ability to create with fabric and thread my own designs in mosaics. I love color, texture & patterns while weaving GlamGrout throughout my mosaics.

Care instructions

All you need to do is keep the Glue covered ( I stick a pin or nail on tip while using so it does not get dry). Use the little applicator as it's easier to control in small areas.

What is GlamGrout and how is it different then traditional grout?

GlamGrout is non- toxic and very easy to use. There are no fumes and it requires very little clean up. It works well if using tiny beads and other materials that regular grout takes the finish off of. You just pour a small amount of glue in area, then sprinkle in the GlamGrout, wipe off any excess with a paint brush, qtip or rag and that's it!

What if the glue gets on my glass ?

It is clear and is fine on glass - I think it actually enhances the materials. I use it over most of my work because it's a great sealer. I use fabric in my work and the Glue is perfect for sealing fabric. This glue bonds & seals and never yellows. Good for interior & exterior .

How much do I need?

That depends on the size of your piece and how large the area is you are grouting. I use multiple colors throughout my work so it really goes a long way. For a 12” x 12” square you would need approx 1oz or 1/3 of a jar. That is with spaces of 1/8” to 1/4”. If using it for a background then it definitely takes more product and that would depend on how large it is. Each jar is 3 oz and should last awhile.

Can I mix colors together?

Yes! I encourage you to play with it and create different colors. You can also layer different colors and use multiple colors in sections.

Can this be used outside?

Absolutely! I have multiple pieces outside my Arizona house. I probably would not keep any mosaic outside in winter weather .I do brush on liquitex gloss varnish in a jar because it has uv protection and works great.

Can I use it when working vertical?

Not really- since it is granular in texture and the glue is liquid it would not hold . Obviously you can work on it on a flat surface and install it vertically.

Can I use it on mesh?

You can't because of the holes but I have figured out a solution that so far is working great. Contact me for further info.

Do I need to wait until I am finished with my piece to use GlamGrout?

Absolutely not- I never wait until the end, I use it as I go. Either way works fine.
