4 out of 5 starsIt's a bit pricey for the size. The yellow glass looks more clear than yellow on this piece. I like it but should have bought a solid color for a more Pop Appeal.

Custom Fused Glass Plate

Glass cut and assembled ready for the first firing in the kiln. It will be shaped into a plate in a second firing.
How I began my glass journey...
Both my father and grandfather were stained glass artisans. For years I begged my father to make a stained glass window for my home. But it was a bit like the shoemaker's children who had no shoes. He never seemed to get around to it. After he retired I begged one more time. This time he said, "Why don't you do it! I'll teach you."
My first piece was one he insisted I design myself. He taught me all of the traditional methods of working in stained glass. I fell in love with the process and loved working with glass. It was one of those "where have you been all of my life" moments. After a several years of creating pieces for myself, family and friends, I was ready to go public selling at shows, gift shops, here on Etsy and doing custom commissioned pieces.
A few years later I became curious about the process of fused glass. The ability to make functional art intrigued me. I enjoy not only the design process, but also the science of working with firing schedules in the kiln. It feels like Christmas morning every time I open the kiln.
I love exploring new ideas and methods which is why there is a such a variety of things in my shop. Most of my pieces are one of a kind designs. Every piece I make is made with great attention to detail and quality.

Owner
I was born to create. I opened my first business when I was 6 years old selling woven potholders that I made. I set up a card board shop outside my father's custom framing shop in New York City. From then on I continued to create and sell things.
