You can buy with confidence! I am healthy and work from my smoke-free, pet-free home studio. I am able to ship new orders in 1 to 3 business days after they are placed.

Due to the Postal Service cutbacks, USPS shipping is sometimes taking longer than usual. Although Packages shipped Free (First Class Package Services) usually arrive in about 3 to 5 business days, a scant few can take up to 10 days. Priority Mail is sometimes taking 2-4 days now instead of the usual 2-3 days. And Priority Mail EXPRESS packages are occasionally taking 1-3 days (instead of the predicted 1-2 days). Fortunately, USPS is still honoring it's money back guarantee for Express services. If your Express package arrives late, USPS should refund the shipping cost.

My shop is filled with fruit-themed art glass jewelry, ornaments and sculpture that will become family heirlooms for your loved ones or even for yourself. I use only glass and high-quality metals - never plastic or paint - so these treasures can be expected to last for generations. The lampwork blueberries, raspberries, blackberries and other fruits are so realistic you will need to touch them to be sure they are glass! Everything ships free inside the US via First Class Package Service, but if that default method isn't fast enough for your deadline, shipping upgrades to Priority and Express can be purchased in the Shopping Cart.

I'm constantly adding new designs to my shop, often based on special orders received from customers. Don't hesitate to contact me if you want something made especially for you!

About GlassBerries

Sales 3,458
On Etsy since 2009

Berries speak to us of abundance and healthy pleasures.

I adore berries, and besides eating them I wanted to be able to wear them too! Since nobody else was making berries in glass, I had to discover how to make them by trial and error. It took awhile. After many, many attempts I managed to make the first glass raspberries that looked real. I strung them on a wire and wore them as a necklace. When people stopped me in the street to ask how I kept the raspberries from staining my blouse, I knew I was on the right track.

I make every berry, fruit and leaf one at a time using the lampwork process. That means I use colored glass rods that look like long crayons and melt them in the flame of a torch. Using mostly gravity and surface tension I shape the melted glass into berries so lifelike you have to touch them to be sure they're not real fruit. A few simple tools like a tungsten pick and a razor blade help me put on the finishing touches, such as the dents in each cell of a raspberry or the dimples in the skin of a kumquat. The blushes or speckles of color that make the fruits look so real are added by melting on layers of colored glass powder.

You won't find glass fruit-themed jewelry or sculptures of this quality anywhere else. When added to Sterling Silver or Gold-Filled findings they make unique and high-end jewelry items that will become family heirlooms. Along with this first-class product I strive to provide first class customer service. That includes elegant gift packaging for every order and free shipping. I want you to be thrilled with your purchase, so I'm happy to customize or exchange items until everything is perfect for you.

My happiest childhood memories are of picking berries and apples in the woods, fields and orchards around our New Hampshire home. I want my glass beads and jewelry to give you a permanent reminder of your own sweetest summer days.

Frequently asked questions
Custom and personalized orders

I welcome custom orders! Feel free to contact me any time with your request.

I am not able to personalize (for example, add a name to) jewelry items, sculptures or ornaments at this time.

Gift wrapping and packaging

All orders are shipped in gift packaging. For jewelry and most small sculptures, the items are carefully packed in natural white cotton inside a black paper gift box with a gold bow. Larger items such as sculptures may be shipped in white paper or wooden gift boxes.

Care instructions

You may clean any of my jewelry designs using the mild jewelry-cleaning liquid that's available in most department stores. First immerse the jewelry piece in plain water, then dip a soft toothbrush into the fluid and scrub lightly, paying special attention to any tarnished surfaces. Then rinse, rinse, rinse, being sure to remove all traces of red fluid or suds from inside the bead holes, where they might leave behind a cloudy haze. You may also safely use any of the dry silver polishing cloths that are available at jewelry stores or on the internet to clean any sterling silver parts that can be easily reached.

About Gold-Filled Jewelry

Gold-Filled materials are quality materials that can be expected to last a lifetime. I use 14/20 gold-filled, which is made by using extreme pressure and heat to bond a sheet of 14 karat yellow gold over a brass base. The resulting product is a wire or tube in which the gold layer represents 1/20th of the volume of the piece. This material is then formed into chain, clasps, rings, ear wires and other jewelry findings that are strong, durable, and resistant to tarnish.

The gold layer of gold-filled materials is many, many times thicker than the coating on gold-plated or “gold vermeil” materials. As a result you can expect to wear and enjoy your gold-filled jewelry for many years without worry of having the gold layer wear through.

Timing of Contract

This shop displays goods which are advertised for sale and gives information about them. By advertising goods I am inviting you to place an order. If you place an order, I am not obliged to accept that order.

The contract between us will only be formed if and when I accept your order. My acceptance of your order and the formation of a binding contract between us will take place when I dispatch the goods to you. Up until this point, there will be no contract in place between us, which means that neither you nor I will have any rights against or obligations towards the other, until the order is dispatched.

If I elect not to accept your order, I will refund your purchase price in full, including shipping and taxes.

More Customs and VAT Information for International Buyers

Your international shipment may be subject to import or value added taxes, customs duties and delivery fees which are levied once a shipment reaches your country. For example, VAT will usually be charged on goods entering the EU from the United States if their value is greater than 15 euros.

Except for shipments to Australia, New Zealand and Norway, ETSY DOES NOT COLLECT THESE TAXES AND FEES - they must be paid by you when you collect your package from Customs.

See below for more information about import taxes on shipments to Australia, New Zealand and Norway.

And see below for more information regarding "Gift" shipments.

Please contact your local customs office for further information.

About International "Gift" Shipments

When a non-US customer is buying a gift for someone else, she often misunderstands that to mean that I can properly mark her international shipment as a Gift. But the customs rules do not apply to what will happen to the package after it is received.

The customs rules only apply to the relationship and transaction between me (the seller) and you (the buyer). Since I will be receiving payment for the work I send overseas, to comply with the law I must mark the package as Merchandise (not as a Gift) and list the full amount paid on the the attached documents. To do otherwise risks criminal penalties for us both. Therefore, regular import costs will be charged on the full value of any order shipped from the US into another country.

Etsy collects Sales Tax for orders shipping to most States
