Announcement   I began working with stained glass ten years ago. A local stained glass supplier offered classes and I thought it might be interesting. I immediately was hooked. I found it amazing to take a piece of this and some of that and put it together to create something beautiful. I make all my pieces using the copper foil technique, which is the same technique used to make Tiffany lamps. Each piece is one of a kind, constructed using hand cut glass, various patinas, decorative soldering and embellishments. Glass choice is very important in my work. I look for glass that has characteristics that can be used to give the piece flow and movement. When the piece is nearly finished I begin to think about which patina, if any, should be applied. If I want a more dramatic feeling I choose black patina. Copper patina is a good choice for a more vintage or elegant feel to the piece. Leaving the solder a bright silver gives the piece an ethereal feel to it. Each piece is different. Each piece has a feeling of it's own. Each piece is a joy to create.

About

Follow your dreams.

My love for all things creative began thirty years ago. Over the years my passions have grown to include creating leaded glass treasures. The leaded glass pieces I offer in my shop are an expression of my love for glass and anything sparkly. Being a stay at home mother of two kept me busy most of the time, however, when I found I had an hour or two to myself I wanted to let my creative side emerge. This began an ongoing love affair with counted cross stitch and nature photography. I offer some of my favorite vintage patterns for sale at www.etsy.com/shop/VintageCrossStitch1. You can view my nature photography at www.etsy.com/shop/ScripturePicture or www.etsy.com/shop/KindredSpiritsStudio. I feel very blessed to have a full life filled with these passions discovered over the years.

I am an "empty nester" who is enjoying semi-retirement by indulging in all the different crafts I have come to love over the years. I enjoy hiking and horseback riding with my husband in the many parks in our area.
