The fused glass plate that I ordered just arrived - right on time. I couldn't be happier. It is exactly as advertised and looks lovely in my kitchen. I'm using it as a spoon rest. Love love love it!

This is an absolutely gorgeous dichroic necklace. I am going to give it to a dear friend for Christmas. Thank you so much!

About

Unique One of a Kind Designer Dichroic Jewelry

Just a little bit about the person behind the name "Glass Mystique." My name is Mary-Ellen and I am married to a wonderful man who supports and encourages all my artistic endeavors. I have three grown children and three amazing grandchildren. I find life an amazing journey and hope to take you along my life's path through my glass work.

I have always had an artistic nature and have dabbled in so many different artistic venues. About 25 years ago I started my glass adventure. Starting in stained glass first, I slowly evolved to the exciting and ever changing world of "Hot Glass."

I have taken many, many different classes to enhance my skills as a Hot Glass Artist. I now own 3 kilns, 2 saws, 2 grinders, and a ton of glass. The process starts out with a sheet of glass, not precut pieces, I cut, layer, and fuse upwards of 1400 degrees. Opening the kiln is always exciting! Once the kiln is cooled down and the glass is properly annealed (5--6 hours) the fun begins. I cut different shapes out of the fired piece with my saw and then grind the edges. When I'm happy with the way it looks back into the kiln it goes for a second firing to fire polish the finished piece. I then decide on the bail or if it want to put a decal on it. The worst part is waiting 6 hours to open the kiln to see what I have created.

I try to keep my pieces unique and on trend. I love pushing the envelope and if you don't see something in my shop for you, I do take customer orders.

I love every aspect of working in glass. I do all my own work, take all my own pictures, package everything, do the advertising, select my glass. I am always evolving and hope you like what you see.

Welcome to my shop. I am a glass artist. Everything you see in my shop was handcrafted by me. I use all compatible glass which is properly fired and annealed to assure you are getting a gallery quality piece of jewelry. I pay particular attention to tiny details and would not expect you to buy something I would not want to purchase myself. I hope you enjoy browsing through my shop!

I am continually trying to come up with unique ideas. I like the fact that each piece of my dichroic jewelry is a one of a kind piece of art which cannot be duplicated.
