About

My Love Affair With Glass

My love of glass began at age 3 when I would stare at antique glass panels explaining to anyone who was near how the piece was constructed. Their strange looks did not deter me nor did my mother's raised eyebrow. The 'know how' came naturally. Adult me works alone in my shop designing and creating stained glass art piece, jewelry, glass bead weaving, rehabilitating vintage jewelry and/or dreaming; as all of these things are simply irresistible to my glass fetish. When I rediscovered an inherited 200 piece vintage elephant figurine collection in my attic, I saved the ones with memories and the balance of the vintage ceramics created the seed money to purchase glass for my modern day 'glass habits'.

New or vintage, I hope you find a graceful treasure to bring to your home.

What to do when there are no more windows to fill with fabulous colors in glass? I switched to weaving with glass beads and added the joy of painted vintage rhinestone necklaces, called Painted Ladies. I keep my options open for more as I dream.

Shipping
Please allow 3 to 5 business days from your date of purchase for your item to be mailed out. I attempt to make 'next day shipping' arrangements from the date your money is received, but I still need a little cushion. I ship with tracking. I do not insure the items against damages or losses which would need to be negotiated with UPS by the buyer.

If you need your package mailed out for a special occasion, I will do my best to accommodate if you include this information with your order.

International Customers:
Shipping internationally is a bit complicated nowadays due to losses. Many countries do not offer full protection for either the buyer or the seller against loss during shipping. For example, Italy has a postal law that only allows for insuring purchases up to a sales value of $40 no matter what the purchase price. As a result, I do sell internationally with the following requirement:

1. Buyers must become a customer of a shipping company that will work with you to insure purchases once they leave the USA. One example is BorderLinx (a division of DHL). They provide a service called SafetyLinx which will provide value protection coverage from a specific USA Borderlinx depot for your goods in transit to a final destination. It provides the assurance and peace of mind that your purchases are protected in the event of loss or damage in transit from me to you.

2. I will provide insurance coverage only from my location in the US to a company like BorderLinx in Dayton, Ohio. It must be a shipping company that offers you insurance protection. They also must provide a tracking number, confirmation of insurance service they sold to you. You would provide me with your account number and assure a 'person' will be available to sign for delivery from me to the US point of collection on your behalf.

3. If your purchase is lost between my location and your US shipping provider, PayPal will provide me with protection from loss. If lost between your US point of departure for shipping to your country, you will take up the loss with the provider you selected to protect your treasure.

Why I changed my shipping policy:

Fed Ex is a good example of a company that no longer provides a service that allows for insuring contents against loss and/or breakage outside the US at reasonable rates. If they do, they usually don't provide tracking with a guarantee of a signature of the person who receives the package. If they do, the costs are over $100 for a small package. The process I described above works and keeps costs for buyers under control.

Thank you for understanding the need for changes on shipping.
Refunds and Exchanges
I don't accept returns, exchanges, or cancellations, but please contact me if you have any problems with your order.

If you order a custom item I will charge an advance fee for the commission to begin the work and I will mail you the final images before shipment to make sure you are satisfied before posting the final fees including shipping.
Additional policies and FAQs
It's my goal that the piece that calls to you from my vintage treasures meets your expectations before you make the purchase. I would encourage studying the item to make sure it's the graceful piece you desire. If you need more images, convo with me and I will send you more snaps. Vintage items cannot be replaced as they are one of a kind, normally over 50 years of age, and therefore can be fragile. Shipment could damage these items if returned. Having said all this, I do not offer returns on vintage items.
