Announcement   Welcome to Glazed Earth! Handmade pottery that is unique, colorful and made with love.
Using earthenware clay, I roll slabs, press stamps, lace, doilies, my handmade stamps and found objects into the clay. I use a variety of slump molds, ready made molds, and self made molds from found objects and vintage dolls for forming my work.
I add a little creepy and macabre, which comes from my love of classic horror films and silent films. A dash of dark with whimsical flair.

All glazes are food safe. Every piece is unique and a one of kind!

This is my new favorite mug! It is now my morning coffee mug. It looks more fragile than it is, but I still handle with care. Thanks! ??

About

Glazed Earth

I live in Kansas with my wonderful husband and our ornery cat. I began Glazed Earth in 2008 in the basement of our house. I have since moved into a studio in the West Bottoms of Kansas City, MO. It is a wonderful space to create with a vibrant community of artists.
Art has been an interest of mine since I was a little girl, whether it be drawing at my desk to creating mud castles and sculptures on the side of the house.
I began making clay objects around 1992 in college. I love the feel of clay and the many ways of manipulating it. Making clay objects is a very cathartic experience for me. I can get lost in the creation of something as complicated as one of my doll sculptures or even the simplicity of my incense burners.
Influences include a love of antiques, silent movies, creepy movies and reading historical fiction.

I live in Kansas with my wonderful husband and our ornery cat. I have a love of classic movies, historical fiction books and really bad T.V. shows. Making art objects is something I have done since I was a little girl.
