Note from shop owner My shop is on vacation. I should be open again around mid February with new work. I hope you come back. If you like, you can ask Etsy to send you an email when my shop reopens. I think there's a button to do that somewhere here on this page. Thanks for stopping by.

Lovely coffee cup in beautiful shade of pale green. As well made as anything you can purchase in the best houseware stores. Really pretty item. Seller packaged very safely and shipped quickly. Highly recommended seller. Thank you.

Welcome, and thank you for visiting my store. I hope you find something here that you like. Below are my policies. Please have a look at them before making a purchase.

Please note the dimensions of the item or items you are interested in buying. Sometimes photos do not accurately illustrate the size or scale of the work.

If you are purchasing something for a gift, I would be happy to send it to the address of the recipient, along with a card saying who it is from. Just let me know when you make the purchase.

The glazes I use in making ceramics are lead free and food safe; unless otherwise stated in the item's description.

Accepted payment methods

  • Pay with Visa
  • Pay with Master Card
  • Pay with American Express
  • Pay with Discover
  • Pay with PayPal
  • Money Order
Payment
I prefer Pay Pal. If you do not have a Pay Pal account, you can still use a credit or debit card through the Pay Pal option when you check out.

If you cancel your order, please do so within 24 hours to avoid any confusion.

I will accept money orders if you prefer. Please make the money order out to me, John Glumpler. I prefer U.S. Postal Service money orders available at the U.S. Post Office, but you can use another if you like. Please contact me within 3 days of the purchase to let me know that it is in the mail. I will ship the order when the money order arrives. Any other brand of money order, and I will wait until it clears at the bank before I ship the item. It could add three to four days to your order plus the time it takes for the money order to get to me.

I do not normally accept checks.
Shipping
After you make a purchase, I will send a note to the email provided by Etsy to confirm your shipping address, and to let you know about when the item will be shipped.

I pack well and ship as promptly as possible. Items usually ship within 3 to 5 days. Large pieces and large orders take a day or so longer because I have to take them to the nearest UPS or FedEx pick up point. Weekends, holidays, and the weather can have affect when an item ships also. I live in a very rural area and usually make two trips to the post office per week.

Smaller items will usually be shipped USPS priority mail. After shipping, your order should arrive in 2 to 4 days. Larger items and multiple items (depending what they are and how many) will be shipped using FedEx Ground or UPS. All items will be insured and shipped with delivery confirmation. If I receive a tracking number (FedEx or UPS), I will share it with you so you can track your purchase. I cannot overnight or express items because the nearest place to do so is 75 miles away.

Ceramics require specific packing methods and materials. The costs of those materials may be part of the shipping price.

Currently I am shipping to the United States only. In the future, I hope to be shipping to Canada, as soon as I figure out the exact costs. Other countries are exponentially more expensive to ship to, so at this time I would prefer not to.
Refunds and Exchanges
I make every effort to make the best products that I possibly can, and I want you to be happy with your purchase. If you would like to return an item to me for a refund, please notify me within 5 days of receiving the item. The buyer will be responsible for the items safe return and the return shipping cost.

Damaged items:
I have never lost or had a piece damaged in the 11 years that I have been shipping ceramics. I hope this trend continues. If an item is damaged during shipment, please notify me immediately so I can report it to the post office or to UPS. I will require a photo of the damaged item before I can give a refund. Under certain circumstances, usually with larger expensive items, I may require you to send the broken or damaged work back to me. If so, I will pay for the return shipping.
Additional policies and FAQs
Special requests:
I do not usually do commissions or special orders. If you have seen something that is not currently available in my shop that I have made before, I would be glad to try and fit it in my usual cycle of making.

Pottery care:
I use my own work daily in my home. I also thoroughly test the glazes I use for durability and safety.

Some of my ceramic pieces are low-fire (terracotta and whiteware firing range), and some pieces are high-fire (stoneware and porcelain firing range). I will always state the material in the item’s individual listing.

Low-fire items are porous in nature. This does not mean they are not food safe or strong. It just means they are low-fire ware. These items should be hand washed and never put in the microwave.

My stoneware pieces are dishwasher and microwave safe. They should last for many years with normal use. Just keep in mind that it is handmade. It will last even longer if you practice a little care and do not subject it to those harsh conditions.

Wooden Cutting Boards:
All my cutting boards are made with attention to detail. I make every effort to ensure that each board lies flat on a hard counter top. Sometimes humidity, temperature, use, and time can change a board and it will develop a slight wobble. This is a normal characteristic of wood.
The glue used in construction is Titebond III. It is similar to regular wood glue, but is waterproof and specifically rated for use in making cutting boards. It is very strong and should last for a very long time.
The protective coating (or seasoning) I use on cutting boards is USP grade mineral oil. It is odorless, tasteless, non-toxic, and super inert. It is available in all drugstores and at most supermarkets.
