5 out of 5 starsVery nice assortment of samples! It gave me a good idea of what they have to offer. Because of the varieties, it was really easy to select the different features I immediately loved and will put together into my own order.

5 out of 5 starsThese wedding invitation samples exceeded my expectations by bounds! Not only did we receive samples of the art designs that peaked our interest, but RSVPs, Save the Dates, envelope colors and styles and every kind of paper available with an without gold accents. To top it all off, we were thrilled with the artistry and overall quality of each design! Thank you so much!

She made the experience easy and professional. I've received so many compliments on her wonderful design, I can't wait to order the matching Invites, RSVP, and Detail pages! It really sets the mood.

5 out of 5 starsAbsolutely perfect. I was on the fence about doing physical invitations before coming across Julie's Etsy shop. My wedding invitations are stunning. I've received messages from so many of my guests saying things like, "One of most beautiful invitations they've seen over the years." If you're anything like me, and cringe at the idea of sending out a tired, overdone, invitation style, this shop is for you. Also, Julie's website is a spectacular resource for all invitation-related questions. She knows what she's doing! I will be using Gilded Swan for my day of stationary as well. Cannot say enough good things.

Gilded Swan Paperie - Your number one source for vintage-inspired wedding stationery
GILDED SWAN PAPERIE
Welcome to Gilded Swan Paperie, a shop filled with vintage wedding invitations, Save the Dates and vintage-inspired stationery.
My name is Julie and I grew up watching old film noir movies with my Grandmother.
On my visits, I would rummage through her bookshelves and read Gone with the Wind and her Emily Post Etiquette books cover to cover. These things inspired me to embrace the type, graphics and traditions of the past.
My first obsession with the 1920s era started when my friends and I were learning to Lindy Hop and Charleston from one of the inventors of swing dance, Frankie Manning. As a teenager in the 1920s, Frankie danced in Harlem and then in many Hollywood movies. He inspired us to learn about the art, music and culture of the early 1920s.
I started Gilded Swan Paperie (formerly GoGoSnap) with my vintage-loving, budget-minded girlfriends as target clientele. One of my best friends was getting married and said "I don't want pretty type on a white background-- that's not me. I want vintage and colorful." Her invitation turned out to be a swanky Art Deco-inspired invitation in gold and sage. And that's how my first wedding invitation came to be.
I design a look based on a rare piece of ephemera from my collection or from a piece that just inspires me. It might be a finial from old sheet music, a flourish from a Victorian tin can. I choose typefaces that convey a specific time frame, but also like to make sure they are warm and romantic. I try and stay clear of cliches... I love when eras are in those "in between" phases like when Art Nouveau started morphing into Art Deco.
I hope my work embodies the spirit and ideology of the past while using modern day printing methods and paper. I hope my wedding invitations convey a non-traditional, colorful way to tie the knot!

Shop policies
Please note, printing is part of my art and process. To ensure that your pieces come out in a lovely and professional manner, I do not sell digital invitations.
[PRINTING]
I print my paper goods on a Heidelberg printing press, not a digital or laser printer. Offset printing is often called offset lithography. My cards use real printing inks and not toners which is what digital printing uses.
[HOW TO ORDER]
Save the Dates and Business Cards
Check out with the listing you like. Quantities are found in the drop down menu.
[WEDDING INVITATION SUITES]
Purchase the $100 deposit. At check out, be sure to let me know:
-- the items you would like to order
-- quantity of each (35 minimum)
-- envelope color and quantity
-- wording you would like on each piece
-- any special color requests
If you have a specific color palette, please send it to me. I love color and appreciate your desire for a unified look. Once you officially approve your design, your final balance is due.
[PROOFING]
You will receive your full-color pdf proofs via email within 24 hours. Your purchase comes with three rounds of revisions, and any revisions after that are charged at $20 each. Your proofs include one color version. If you would like to see your design in several different color palettes, I will charge a design fee as it is very time-consuming to do this. Once you officially approve your design, cards take three weeks for printing and trimming + shipping time.
I STRONGLY recommend you print your proofs on your own printer. It is the only way you will see the exact size, typeface, and text that will ultimately be printed on your cards. You are 100% responsible for proofing your own products. I do my best to catch typos and grammatical errors, but my eye is also on the design. Therefore, you are 100% responsible. Gilded Swan Paperie is not responsible for errors on printed stationery that were approved during the proofing process. I am happy to reprint your stationery at a discounted rate in the case of an error found upon delivery or on press.
Proofing on an iPhone or iPad is not recommended and results in iTypos.
[TURNAROUND TIME]
In-stock items: (like Thank You notes): 1-2 business days to ship
Custom Printed Orders:
3-5 weeks for printing and trimming plus shipping time. No rush service.
Due to the paper shortage and quadruple the amount of weddings this year, printing cannot be rushed. Please be advised.
[GOING TO PRESS]
All remaining balances (if any) must be paid prior to any printing.
[SAMPLES]
I strongly recommend you purchase a sample prior to officially ordering invitations. It's the only way to see and feel what your finished invitation will look like. I send lots of extras and make sure you get samples of my standard matte paper, museum board paper, and shimmery pearlescent paper.
I do not accept returns or give refunds if you are unhappy with the paper or printing quality unless I personally made an error. Please order samples so you know exactly what the quality will be like when you receive your own order.
Please also note that I rarely ever use bright white on anything. I adore the weathered feel of old paper and almost every one of my designs has a nice "vintage" texture to it. You may see lots of little weathered imperfections in the backgrounds which give it a truly vintage look! If you are looking for perfectly symmetrical and crisp lines, I may not be the shop for you. I adore the hand-drawn and painted aesthetics from the 1880's - 1930s and they did not have computers back then.
DELIVERY
Your custom printed invitations take about 3-5 weeks for production and another 2-4 business days for the mail in the US and 6-10 business days internationally. You will be notified with a tracking number exactly the moment your invitations are packed up and shipped. All invitations are shipped unassembled. This is the fun part for you!
You are 100% responsible for tracking of your own invitations and telling me if you did not receive them. I am not responsible for packages lost on your front porch or not received in your apartment lobby if USPS has confirmed delivery. You are responsible for purchasing reprints.
Order early, things happen!
You may have misspelled your Mother-in-Law's name, or perhaps your package was held in customs for two weeks.
Unless you tell me otherwise, your package will be delivered to the address you have on file with Etsy. Please triple-check your address as I am not responsible for lost packages if you input your address incorrectly or have moved to another address.
[BRIDEZILLA POLICY]
I try very hard to be as flexible as possible to ensure my client's happiness for her special and joyous occasion. If a Bridezilla enters our working relationship, I reserve the right to cancel our contract immediately. Unkindly worded emails can result in the immediate cancellation of your order. I do not take your wedding lightly, this is my career and I am here to help make your day special. If the tone of your emails is rude and unkind, I am sorry, but I will cancel your order. This clause also applies to Mohzillas (Maids of Honors) and Mobzillas (Mothers of Brides).
[CANCELLATION POLICY]
If you cancel your order AFTER you have received your proofs via email, there will be a cancellation fee because of the work involved in designing your proofs. In some instances, I have spent several hours designing your proofs with your specific requests and I would have to be compensated for this, therefore you may lose your $100 deposit. If your item has entered the official printing phase, then it is too late to change or cancel at all. I am happy to reprint your stationery at a discounted rate.
[COVID]
Due to the global pandemic, many of my vendors have lost their lives and their businesses. I cannot accommodate rush orders at this time. Please realize we are all working as best we can in these very difficult times.
[RUSH ORDERS]
I am very sorry, but I do not offer rush service. Rushing wedding invitations is very different from rush ordering, say, a pair of shoes from Amazon. Errors occur when we rush the proofing, printing and delivery process.
[OUTSIDE ART FILES]
It is my policy to not utilize any client's design files other than my own. Since I did not create them originally, I cannot guarantee the final output of them. I hope you understand. I'm just a stickler for high quality.
[CUSTOM DESIGNS]
I am very sorry, but I do not offer completely custom bespoke designs. I have over 50 existing designs in my shop ready to be altered for you with your wording, paper choices and colors. Your invitations will look completely custom for a fraction of the price.
[COLOR]
I have made every effort to display as accurately as possible the colors of my products that appear on Etsy. However, as the actual colors you see will depend on your monitor, I cannot guarantee that your monitor's display of any color will be accurate. I do not offer refunds so ordering samples prior to ordering your full invitation suite is strongly recommended. I do not offer refunds or discounts because the listing may appear slightly different than what you received. Order a sample. Period! But please read my feedback if you are worried about the quality. I think you'll be pleased with the final product.
Please note, that many designs are very complicated and completely tinted by hand. If you require major color revisions, charges may incur as this can take several hours.
[FOIL PRINTING AND ADD-ONS]
All designs are flat-printed unless you request metallic foil. All envelopes shipped are blank unless you request printing. These features cost additional so please contact me to give you a quote and to set this up for you. My photos and videos show various ways of printing and different papers, so please let me know if you would like any add-ons as they are not included in your order.
[FONTS]
I have purchased professional versions of all my typefaces. I do not download free fonts from the internet as they are oftentimes not suitable for professional printing. I have a very large font library so you are welcome to browse through my shop to find something you might like better.
If you would like custom typesetting that is entirely different from the listed designs, a surcharge will occur. Please inquire so that I may quote.
[DESIGNS CHANGES]
If your custom proofs have been delivered and you decide to change the design to something different, then a change fee will be charged. Fee is based on how much work I have put into your designs. It can range from $25 - $150.

You are 100% responsible for printing out the proofs I send you and making sure you are 100% happy with the type size and spelling. Your proof size should exactly measure the size that is stated in the listing. If you have a lot of copy, the type will be small... please remember that when you approve your designs.
My designs are based on the 1880s-1940s. The images are hand-drawn, painted and imperfect and are meant to be that way. If you are looking for perfectly crisp and modern, then I might not be the shop for you. Moreover, my guest books are hand made and the binding may have a slight crease on the ends. If you are looking for perfection, I might not be your gal. I love vintage and all that comes with it!
Please fee free to order in stages. For instance, just start with your save the date first. That way, we both know our relationship is meant to be and we are both very happy with the transaction. I love working in phases and do not offer refunds, so take your time and let's get it right by taking baby steps.
If you cancel your order prior to printing, there will be a cancellation fee, or kill fee. This is charged because of the time I spend designing your custom proofs. When you place an order in my Shop, I immediately begin working on your personalized proofs.
Pocket folders cannot be returned. They are custom-made for your special project and once they are constructed, they are done.

Shipping
I ship via USPS Priority Mail which takes 2-4 days in the US. Shipping includes insurance and tracking. During the Covid crisis, I am ONLY shipping international orders via Fedex so please contact me for a quote.
Please make sure that the address you have listed with Etsy is correct; this is where I will ship your package unless you specify a different shipping address during checkout. If the USPS has given us bonafide delivery status with a date/time stamp online, then your item was delivered. I am not responsible for any packages lost or stolen from your doorstep, porch or lobby. I will gladly replace your missing items as quickly as humanly possible, but you are financially responsible for replacement as I have no control over what happens on your porch:] I am also not responsible if you wait several days after this date/time delivery stamp.
[TRACKING]
It is your responsibility to track your own packages. Etsy and I send you a tracking number when your items are shipped. Just go to your ACCOUNT/PURCHASES AND REVIEWS. Your tracking is there and you will know every step your package takes. I will gladly add "signature required" to any package. Just ask!
You are 100% responsible for tracking your own invitations and telling me if you did not receive them. I am not responsible for packages lost on your front porch or not received in your apartment lobby if USPS has confirmed delivery. You are responsible for purchasing reprints.
[INTERNATIONAL]
During the COVID crisis, I am ONLY shipping via Fedex for international packages. Please contact me for a quote.
Import duties and VAT taxes are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges are the BUYER'S responsibility as they are randomly imposed as tax by your country. Unless you tell me otherwise, your package will be delivered to the address you have on file with Etsy. Please triple-check your address as shipping overseas is costly. I am not responsible for lost packages if you input your address incorrectly.
Shipping outside of the US can take an average of 6-10 business days. This is not a guarantee, but an estimate, and DOES NOT include time spent in customs. I am not responsible for any shipping delays due to customs, which may take up to an additional 6 weeks or more. Please look into the customs and import policies of your country before placing your order. I do not refund any orders due to customs or shipping delays. Order early, things happen!

Frequently asked questions
What type of printing do you do?
I print my paper goods on a Heidelberg printing press, not a digital or laser printer. Offset printing is often called offset lithography. My cards use real printing inks and not toners which is what digital printing uses. Real inks just set into the paper deeper and richer, they are not shiney like digital printing tends to be.
And because my designs are based on the 1800's - 1930's, I print them in the way they were printed during that time. Therefore, your invitations really will have that high quality, vintage feel to them.
My Process
Once you go through the check out, you can fill in all the wording you want in the "message to Seller" section. Once you do that, you will receive your proofs via the EMAIL you have on file with Etsy within 24 hours.
Your purchase comes with three rounds of revisions. Any revisions after the first three are charged at $20 per revision. This does not include unlimited color proofs to choose from. Once you officially approve your design, your cards take 3-5 weeks for production and another 2-4 business days for the mail within the US or 6-10 outside.
Custom and personalized orders
Because every bride and groom is so unique, it's almost impossible to order invitations with just a click of a button. All invitations are printed flat (non-metallic) unless you request metallic foil. All envelopes are blank unless you ask for printing. Both options cost additional. Please contact me to set these features up for you. Full pricing guide is located here:
https://www.gildedswanpaperie.com/pricing
Can I order samples??
Please do! I am a paper hoarder and I would love to clean out my closets. But seriously, ordering a physical sample is the ONLY way to see, feel, touch what your final product will look like. There are so many variables and stress factors associated with planning a wedding, ordering a physical sample will eliminate a lot of that stress:

And a full array of videos of all of my papers in action:
https://www.gildedswanpaperie.com/papers
Are custom colors available?
Besides being a paper hoarder, I am a color addict and love coordinating my designs to your wedding palette. Submitting a digital swatch or mood board with your order helps me greatly. But please confirm before you place your order just to make sure your color vision will work with whichever design you choose. Your purchase comes with three rounds of revisions which includes one color study.
Do you sell digital files of your wedding invitations?
I do not sell any digital files of my work. I adore the printing process and it is part of my life. And because my designs are based on the 1800's - 1930's, I print them in the way they were printed during that time. Therefore, your invitations really will have that high quality, vintage feel to them.
