Congratulations, you've made a very important decision in choosing to shop on Etsy! Your Money is your Ballot, so Vote Wisely. In a world where money=power, why give more power to mega-corporations who don't respect human rights or the environment?

As an artisan and someone who makes a living from my art, I place handmade at the top of my list of what's important in today's retail market. In keeping with my commitment to this idea, I purchase most of my materials from fellow Etsyans, to make sure that we remain a supportive community.

Unfortunately, arts patronage has been de-prioritized in our modern age. Sites like Etsy help keep this dream alive, by allowing artists a space to showcase their creative endeavors and bring one-of-a-kind, handmade goods to the world.

Handmade objects are like talismans, imbued with the loving energy of their maker. These items are vastly more powerful and meaningful than dime-a-dozen plastic crap, shipped from overseas and lacking even a shade of character.

In choosing to shop on Etsy, you are making a bold statement about your belief in humanitarianism and artistic value. As well, you are making a huge difference in the lives of artists, makers, creators, and dreamers alike.

Thank you from all of us and long-live Handmade!

About

Golden Spiral Designs

Golden Spiral came about when I was searching for a name that I could use casually for my crafting, as well as professionally. I wanted a name that captured the whole essence of my artistic inspiration.
Nature is and always has been a huge source of inspiration for me. I am humbled by the harmonic perfection of her symmetries, ratios, and patterns, and use this inspiration to inform my own designs.

I learned the art of wrapping with wire from another local artist. He only needed to show me the first few steps and I knew it was the artform for me.
Since learning, I've put many difficult hours into practicing and even trying to innovate my own techniques. Wire-wrapping is a tricky medium because you're working with metal. And metal doesn't like to be told what to do. Metal forces you to learn what it's capable of, and then work within those parameters. I've learned a great deal of patience, working with it, as well as knowing when it's time to set it down and go make a cup of tea.

I'm inspired by the works of several other Etsy artisans, including: Third Eye Assembly, Tela Formosa Jewelry, and Artificer Workshop. Their use of materials is unmatched in my eyes. I see a fair amount of wire-wrapping and much of it is very complicated and intricate. Though I find these works to be impressive, I prefer a simpler, cleaner, more understated style. I like the wire to hold the stone, gem, or glass, without distracting too much from the natural beauty of the piece itself. And I love the flow of an effortlessly curving wire.

Minerals and crystals are a geological record of the place from which they came. They are a tangible sample of nature's wonder, and to me, they are sacred.
Though I don't always agree with the ecological impact of mining, I understand that it's an inevitable part of the process of unearthing the gems and metals that I so esteem. I take special care to source my minerals from locations that are renowned for the quality of their product.

I would hope that this extra step of sourcing only the best will bleed over into the magic and quality of my own work. I want the recipient of the jewelry to see and feel the love and intention that has been put into every step of the process.

Thanks for your interest! Except for the items listed as Supplies, everything you see here has been handmade by me, Lola. Each piece was created with utmost care for quality and durability.
For my jewelry, I use a mixture of fine metals, semi-precious stones, wood, glass, ceramic, crystal... and even found objects. I enjoy jewelry that is both elegant, yet practical, and I strive for excellence in the balance of each design. I use inspiration from nature to inform my color and pattern choices. No two pieces are exactly alike.

Payment
I accept payment through PayPal, or Etsy direct.
I do not collect tax on any of my items.
If you need to cancel a purchase, please be in contact a.s.a.p. for the smoothest transaction. If I have already purchased postage, I will have to subtract that, as well the non-refundable fees that Etsy takes, from the amount that will be returned to you.
I appreciate your understanding in this manner.
Shipping
I ship immediately on receipt of payment (barring bank holidays, weekend, etc...) and will always source out the least expensive shipping option.
Also, if you live in Seattle, I'm happy to arrange to have you pick up the items, rather than pay for shipping. I work at a tattoo shop that is centrally located on Capitol Hill, in the heart of the city. Convo me prior to payment and we can work this out. Not that I don't love supporting USPS...
As always, if the shipping winds up being more than a dollar less than what I've quoted, I will refund the difference back to you.
Shipping comes with tracking and insurance added in.
Refunds and Exchanges
All items are packaged to ship safely. If damage occurs during shipping, let me know as soon as it arrives and please DO NOT throw away the packaging. In order for me to file a proper claim for the damage, I will need clear and exemplary photos of the packaging the damaged item. If I can't get photos, it makes collecting insurance very difficult. I appreciate your cooperation with this process - I know it's never fun to deal with insurance, but if we follow the steps properly, it's much easier and faster in the end.

I do guarantee the quality of my items - handmade and otherwise. If you experience mechanical failure with a necklace chain or other hardware, let me know. I'm happy to remedy it, I just ask that for ease of transaction, please package the item safely and pay for the return shipping to me - I will refund this amount to you. We can discuss replacement or refund - whichever you prefer.

I construct my jewelry with care and utmost quality, but if there is any sort of issue, please get in touch and we can discuss your options. If you have just received the item, I may ask to see photos of the issue at hand so I can offer options for repair or return. If it's a simple repair, I will have you ship it back to me at your expense, but will pay the return shipping to you.

If you've had the jewelry for a while and damage occurs, get in touch and we can discuss options for repair. I'm happy to work with you and your patience through the process is most appreciated!
Additional policies and FAQs
Please bear in mind that I am just one person, creating one-of-a-kind, handmade items. I am not a factory or large corporation. I will do my best to keep in touch with you in a timely manner, and hope that we can solve any issues with ease.
Cooperation is most appreciated, as well as patience.
Thank you!!
