About

How It All Began

As a child, my Grandmother tried to teach me how to crochet. I tried. I didn't get it. I didn't like it. I was a TomBoy and crocheting was for girly-girls. Not for girls like me who loved to be playing outside!

It wasn't until a dear friend of mine said she would teach me how to crochet that I became interested in the craft. See, she was diagnosed with Stage 4 Endometrial Cancer and her prognosis was not good.

The day I took my yarn and some hooks to her place so that she could begin to teach me how to crochet was the beginning of the end. She had suffered a stroke right before my arrival. I sat with her all day. There were no lessons. Just time spent in each other's company.

She died that night surrounded by friends and family. Right then and there I made a promise that I would learn to crochet in her honor.

I followed through on that promise and my love for yarn and creating things is what inspired me to open up an Etsy shop.

Since then, Hubby and I have moved to our dream farm in Kentucky where we are restoring the farmstead and striving to achieve a simpler lifestyle. My love of creating and crafting has evolved into creating wholesome products for us to use with many of the ingredients used found right here at the farm. I love the products and really enjoy making them so I wanted to share them with you - people who love handcrafted, wholesome products.

I grew up a TomBoy, loving nature, animals and anything to do with outside activities. I was also crafty but it wasn't until later in life that I began to appreciate the beauty and value of handmade items.
