Welcome to Gooseberry Knits! My shop is named after my precious daughter Emma, a.k.a. Gooseberry. I mainly specialize in baby and toddler woolies. I am licensed to knit the EviePants AIO pattern (soakers, shorties, bloomers, longies, skirties), Honeysuckle tunic/dress knitter, Bayside Britches overalls, Something Beautiful shrug, Benedick and Beatrice vest and IvyAnna dress. I love to knit but I am also a long time sewer, so I will occasionally stock items other than handknit ones when I'm feeling so inclined :-) Thanks for your interest in my store!

Accepted payment methods

Payment
Payment via Paypal is expected within 24 hours or item will be relisted.
Shipping
Items ship within 36 hours of payment via Canada Post and custom items will ship upon completion. Delivery confirmation is included and overages on shipping over a dollar will be refunded. If lanolinizing a wool item has been requested, please allow an additional 24-36 hours to allow the item to air dry before shipping. I do not require shipping insurance, but I will not be held responsible for a package once the post office receives it. I strive to package items to minimize the chances of water damage, but beyond that, I will not be responsible for damages incurred during shipping. If you'd like to purchase insurance for your package at an additional fee, please let me know.

International customers are responsible for all fees associated with shipping to their respective countries, including import taxes, customs duties and fees levied by the destination country. Additional charges for customs clearance are the responsibility of the recipient; we have no control over these charges and cannot predict what they may be. Customs policies vary widely from country to country; you should contact your local customs office for further information. When customs clearance procedures are required, it can cause delays beyond our original delivery estimates.

I will do all I can to ship your items in a timely manner, but I do not guarantee delivery by a certain date.
Refunds and Exchanges
Returns and exchanges will be handled on a case by case basis. Please contact me at gooseberryknits [at] gmail [dot] com
I stand behind my workmanship. If you are unsatisfied, I will take returns only on unworn, unwashed, unused in-stock items, within 10 days of receipt of item. In the case of a return, after the item is received by me, I will refund the original price through Paypal, minus the shipping cost and Paypal fees. I will be happy to work out any workmanship issues, but custom orders and items listed as second quality will not be returnable. Photos of custom items will be provided prior to shipping. If you have a question or concern about an item, please convo me and we will try to work it out. "Pooling" is not considered a defect in workmanship and items will not be returnable due to "pooling". I do make efforts to avoid pooling when possible though (knitting from both ends of a ball, etc) since I'm not a fan of pooling either!

Items may not be returned due to size/fit issues unless the listing information was incorrect, or made to the wrong dimensions for custom orders. Please read the listings carefully and check your baby's measurements. Please see Additional Policies for information on how to measure your baby for woolies.
Additional policies and FAQs
YYMN (your yarn my needles) custom knit longies, capris, shorties, skirties, bloomers, overalls, and hats are available when time permits. I usually have a small stash of yarn on hand for MYMN knits (my yarn, my needles) and I am also open to sewing-related customs- just ask :-) . Once details are worked out for a custom order, a reserved listing will be made and I will begin work on your item once payment has been received. Turn around time on custom orders depends on the item selected, but most take approximately 2 weeks to complete and ship out. Exact timelines will be discussed prior to payment.

HOW TO MEASURE FOR WOOLIES:

All measurements are taken over your baby's diaper and I would recommend measuring while baby is in his/her bulkiest diaper.

Waist: Measure snugly just above the diaper, at the point where you'd like the waistband of the woolies to sit.

Hip: Measure around baby's hips at the widest point. If you prefer looser fitting woolies, add a little extra to this measurement.

Rise: Starting at the front just above baby's diaper, right where you want the top of the woolies waistband to hit, measure down through the crotch and up the back, stopping at the point just above the diaper where you want the top of the waistband to hit in the back.

Thigh: measure around the chunkiest part of your baby's thigh, add any desired ease to this measurement.

Inseam: Measure the inseam from the center of the crotch to the bottom edge of the longies/pants cuff.
If in doubt, convo me and I'll try to answer any sizing questions!
