Announcement   ♥HOW TO SEARCH THIS SITE: With only 10 sections allowed by Etsy, searching for a particular item by section can cause sensitivity to your index finger from scrolling. Hey, I have the attention span of a gerbil on caffeine, so I know scrolling down a page is NOT fun. So I've listed a few recommendations.♥
1. SEARCH BY SECTIONS: If you are unsure of what you want, and just want to browse.
2. "SEARCH IN THIS SHOP" (typing single word items will work as well):
A. Type a particular scent into this search area (i.e. "Bay Rum")
B. Type in a specific product (i.e. "Sugar Scrub")

♥COMBINED SHIPPING: US=$6.10, Canada=$22.75, Everywhere Else=$29.40. I can fit EIGHT 5 oz bars per envelope or 3-4 4 oz jars or 3-4 4 oz bottles or mix and match.

I know these shipping prices are high, but the USPS raised their rates yet again. The listed flat rates are per order, so you can shop without accumulating costs. Also, my soaps tend to be a weighing nightmare. I can't cut 5 oz consistently. Some soaps are 5 oz or 6 or 7 or even 8 oz. I actually think it's awesome to open a package a see the biggest 5 oz of my life, but the shipping prices vary on each bar of soap. This is what makes flat rate shipping so attractive to me, it solves the soap problem and allows me to ship larger free samples. I can refund shipping over-payments all day long, but I really don't like to ask for extra funds to mail items (especially if I miscalculated).

If you are looking to buy 1 item and don't care to pay the flat rate fee, just send me a convo. I can figure out the shipping cost and adjust the listing for you.

NEW SOAP - Drizzled Chocolate soao. I mean, why not, right?

I'm on a roll with the soapmaking! This is the Lavender Rose after I just added the rose petal powder and lavender buds. NEW SOAP!
NEW SOAP - Rose Geranium colored with natural paprika powder. Paprika powder turned the soap into a lovely peachy color. It's a soft floral fragrance, either that or I've been breathing it in too much.

About

It's the Soap and nothing but the Soap!

I can remember my earliest memory of soap. I was 5 years old, and my brother was 3. He was always wanting everything I had, so I showed him my bar of soap and pretended to eat it. Well, I sold him on the idea that it was yummy soap, and he had to have it too. So "reluctantly", I handed over the soap, and watched gleefully as he ate a huge chunk of it. My Mother said he blew bubbles for a week...I know, I know...that was REALLY bad.

A year later, we were stationed in Korea (Yes, I'm an Army Brat), and my mother was washing clothes. The apartments we lived in, if you could call them that, was fashioned more like an oasis away from the rest of the world. We had an atrium of sorts and located off to the side was a facility to wash clothes. Now you have to forget everything Western to imagine how my poor Mother had to wash clothes. There was a faucet, a washboard, and a huge bar of handmade soap. It was unscented, and probably made of animal fat, but to this day I can remember the clean smell it provided. My Mother wouldn't let me touch it, but I sneaked a sniff as much as I could.

Almost 20 years later, back here in the States, I once again became curious as to how soap was made. I forced my poor husband to go with me to Michael's, where I purchased melt and pour supplies. The soap I made was ok, but I was a little peeved that my main ingredient was soap. I wanted to know how others before me made soap from nothing. I knew there was a way! My need to know the how & why forced me to stalk soapmaking like nobody's business. I bought books, I studied, I experimented, and I obsessed.

During this time, I had 2 children, and I had to put my soapmaking experiments on the back burner. Then one day, my children had fine little bumps in various patches all over their body. My pediatrician told me it was ezcema, and told me how to keep it under control. She told me to stay away from Johnson's Baby products, because they contained alcohol. Holy cow! What? Baby stuff is not good for baby? I realized that I could make the kind of soap that was better for my kids. So I started researching again, and the momentum for soapmaking began again. I knew roughly what I wanted for my family, but I had so many ideas, so I streamlined them into excel sheets. Soap was piling up around the house, so I gave them away to friends and family (whom I've also experimented ON, so they deserved some free soap). The amount of soap I made was disproportional the amount of space in our home. And then something wonderful happened....I found Etsy :) I joined an awesome soap team (Safeteam) and a wonderful regional team (Tennessee Valley Crafters), and I must say I love it all!

And my little brother? The big goof still tries to eat my soap......I guess that's my fault, though :)

That's not me pictured. That is my youngest son. I just thought it was a great photo, and it fit the area! I'm a mom, a wife, a soap aficionado, and an engineer. I love figuring out how stuff is made and then making it better :)

Frequently asked questions

Custom and personalized orders

I have a lot of fragrances that I haven't listed due to time constraints, but I'm slowly adding them to the shop. If you see something in a particular fragrance that isn't offered in a different product, let me know! I will make it for you! I don't usually change my formulas anymore. It was getting too difficult to keep up with all of the different lotions and scrubs, and didn't allow me time to test the new formula adequately.

Why does shipping cost so much?

All shipping is based off of a flat rate for US and International orders. I will reimburse any shipping overpayment when an item can be shipped USPS First Class. I designed this new shipping profile so you can feel comfortable shopping for multiple items without accumulating shipping fees!

For international orders, I can create a custom listing for you with the correct shipping amount. I just need to know what country the order is shipping to and what you're ordering. Typically, small packages will go out via First Class Mail, and I can use flat rate envelopes for heavier packages. Or you can just order, because I reimburse overpaid shipping fees regardless. Either way, I'm flexible :0)

Why can't I return items made for personal use such as soaps, sugar scrubs, lotions, etc?

Personal products that are used on your body will not be accepted once I ship them out. Quality control is outside of my control at that point, and I cannot resell these types of returned items.

May I return bulk order items?

No - Even if you don't like the scent. Before purchasing bulk items (such as candles and wax melts), purchase a single item and see if you like it. If you don't like the scent and you haven't opened the package, then sure - I'll accept the return and reimburse you the cost of the item less the shipping. It takes time and supplies to make say 40 wax melts or 40 candles. I'm a small company and that kind of loss can be difficult to recover from. I want you to be happy with your purchase, so let's purchase small quantities until we are sure of our preferences.

My order arrived damaged. What do I do?

Contact me as soon as it arrives. Take a picture of the damage and send it to me. I have insurance on the items and will need the photos as proof. I will either refund or resend your order based on your preference.

Something is missing from my order or my order is wrong. Will you send it?

Yes, I will send it to you. It's rare that I get an order wrong, but it does happen. I will send it to you ASAP at no additional cost.

Why does it take up to 5 days to ship my order out?

Everything in the shop is handmade fresh. I make the product, disinfect jars, create and cut labels, package for shipment, and drive to the post office to drop it all off. I don't have a warehouse full of stuff, just sitting around for purchase. Everything I sell is made to order to ensure freshness. This takes time.

For small orders, I usually have a 1-2 day turn around; However, I get a lot of orders every week. I fill orders as they come in, in the order they arrive to be fair to everyone.

I just purchased items and have changed my mind. May I cancel the order?

Please read the full listing and shop policies before purchasing. If you decide after purchasing that you want to cancel your order, please contact me immediately. I don't mind cancelling an order and refunding you in full before I've started filling your order.
