GracesGrabBag's Shop Announcement

My name is Christine LaFond, and I am the owner of Grace’s Grab Bag, or

I individually handcraft all of my items with great attention to detail. Currently, I have multiple lines of products to offer:

***knitted and crocheted scarves and neck warmers are perfect for the upcoming winter season.

***I am also very pleased to offer beaded hair accessories. These are produced using glass seed beads and a technique called “French Beading”. All the beads are hand-strung onto wire, formed into individual petals, and assembled into flowers. What makes these barrettes unique is that they are interchangeable. On the back of each flower is a very strong magnet (capable of lifting 6-9 pounds). This magnet attaches to an alligator clip, which is then clipped to your hair. Each flower can be easily removed and exchanged for a different color flower without removing the alligator clip. They are perfect for weddings and formals, and are also casual enough to be worn every day.

***Lastly, I offer hand-bound sketchbooks and journals. These are popular with artists, writers, bloggers, list-makers, and scrapbookers. Each book is hand stitched using waxed embroidery floss. The covers are made from up-cycled vintage children’s books or unique designer paper. In some instances I have even inserted some of the children’s book pages throughout the blank pages. (Example: All books are bound with seventy pound, bright white drawing paper and have a sophisticated, polished, but also hand-made look to them.

As a metal smith, I will soon be introducing holiday luminaries made from recycled tin cans and cut with a fine tipped flame. I will notify you when these are available.

Above all, I am an artist passionate about creating. When someone purchases my product, I am honored to know that they’ve spent their hard earned money on something that made with my own two hands. I don’t take this lightly, and I always guarantee my products. If for any reason your product breaks due to circumstances out of your control, ship it back to me and I will replace it with a new one of equal value.

As an artist, I support other local artist and the growing indie craft scene. I participate in many local indie craft fairs including “The Rust Belt Market” in downtown Ferndale,, and this year’s Noel Night at The College For Creative Studies.

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to view my shop. I welcome any comments, questions, or constructive criticism. Please feel free to contact me at any time.
