Reliving the Dream
Having worked for and with my mom when we had an antique shop many years ago, old 'stuff' was all I knew in the way of house furnishings. Mom loved primitives...the older the piece the more she desired them. Old beat up boxes, crock jugs and old oak furniture that had to be stripped, glued back together and refinished or left in its antique state to add to her collection, Mom loved old!
By default almost, I fell into the same trap and in early years, collected the 'seconds'...things that were too junky for Mom to want, old jugs with LOTS of hairlines, chips and cracks, graniteware that was rusted through and chipped....I just didn't have the money to invest in 'good' pieces like Mom did.
As the years passed and finances changed, I began seriously collecting and my home began resembling Moms home...very nice 100+ yr old primitive style antiques, I never got into the more fancier antiques except I did have a pink glass/pottery collection that since has gone to auction.
A BIG move was in my future, a 1300 mile move, and I found myself giving up most of my antiques, leaving family and friends to make this move happen. For eleven years I lived with new furnishings, not even unpacking the few antiques I couldn't part with when leaving.
And then I found out about ETSY :) My daughter was buying baby clothes from shops on here and I was curious. What IS this Etsy? Do they have anything I'd like? And so I explored and something deep down in me caught fire...maybe I could have a shop...maybe? Would it be hard, I've been out of the work force quite a while, not dealt with selling for many years, etc....I had fears and questions.
The questions were pretty much answered by reading the Etsy site's thorough information provided for new shop owners, the fears...well, I'm here, I'm selling, and have learned so much! Truly, Etsy isn't just about selling, it's the fun, unique and interesting relationships made during sales and with other shop owners, it's the thrill of the hunt for fun items to offer those who 'find' us here, it's in running into the exact same item we'd had as a child...an old cereal bowl, a handmade potholder, maybe a bed sheet that was exactly like the ones Mom had...that's Etsy! It's all of this and much, much more!
I'd encourage anyone who has the desire to have a shop here to give yourself the gift of that shop! Take the plunge, dive in and enjoy making your dream come true.

As a solo shop owner, I wear many hats yet they all lead back to my biggest passion...antiques. My newest interest, vintage, is teaching me that these items could've been obtained as recent as when my girls were growing up. I guess that makes me old!

We accept personal checks drawn on banks in the USA; please allow ample time for your check to arrive at our shop and clear our bank before we ship out your items. We will convo you when we receive your check as well as when your items ship.
RESERVED LISTINGS: If we've agreed to reserve a listing for you, we require that you purchase that listed item within seven (7) days. Otherwise, the item will be placed back in the open stock of our shop.
CANCELLATIONS: We ship items out a minimum of three times weekly (usually Monday, Wednesday, Friday; never on Saturday, Sunday or US holidays); if you need to cancel your order, please inform us within 24 hours so we'll not have already shipped your order. Once shipped, the order is considered complete.
INTERNATIONAL SALES: We are happy to ship items internationally. Please note that you will need to convo (message) us PRIOR to purchases in order that we may adjust the shipping costs to reflect correct international postage.
COMBINED SHIPPING: We cheerfully combine shipping on multiple items when it is safe to do so, please convo before purchasing and we can adjust shipping costs to save you money :)
SHIPPING/TRACKING: You will receive a convo informing you that your items have shipped along with tracking information. If you need an item quickly, please convo us prior to making your purchase. Let us know the date you need the item/s. We may need to adjust shipping costs.
All purchases will be mailed within 3 business days. If we have overcharged you for shipping by more than $1.00, we will cheerfully refund you the difference via Direct Check Out or PayPal. In an effort to keep shipping costs as low as possible, I often reuse clean boxes and packing material. We do pack your items very carefully, using lots of bubble wrap, packaging materials, etc...our goal is for you to open your parcel and be THRILLED with the contents!!
Due to USPS shipping prices being what we consider very expensive on larger items (sets of melmac and corelle dinnerware, for example), we use FedEx for most of those orders which includes insurance. If you encounter breakage during shipping, we will provide the tracking information to help you process your claim with FedEx. Responsibility for filing the claim is the buyers.
INSURANCE: We highly advise all buyers who are purchasing breakables or high dollar items to convo us regarding the purchase of shipping insurance prior to checking out as we cannot be responsible for parcels lost in transit or damaged in shipping. Note that USPS Prioirity domestic shipping includes insurance up to $100. Price of extra insurance varies by item, please convo us before completing your purchase. Each item with a price of $150. or more will automatically receive shipping insurance; the price of the insurance will be reflected in the shipping cost.
Refunds and Exchanges
If an insured item arrives broken, we will provide you with the information the post office needs to process your insurance claim. Processing of said claim is the buyers responsibility. If an uninsured item arrives broken, please immediately provide us with photos of both the box and breakage. If we determine the breakage is our fault, we will refund your purchase price and shipping; if we determine the breakage is not our fault (due to the post office's excessive rough handling, ie: crushed box, retaped box, etc) we will not be able to refund you.
We care about you, our customer, and want each of you to be 110% happy with your purchases and the service you receive. If you are unhappy with your purchase, please contact us prior to leaving feedback and allow us the opportunity to rectify the situation. If you choose to return an item due to your not 'liking' it once received, please contact us ahead of time; we allow returns if received in the same condition the item was sent to you and if the returned item is received by us within 2 weeks of your receiving the item. Return shipping is the responsibility of the customer; we refund the original purchase price however, as with any online shop/store, cannot refund your original shipping price as that's been paid to either USPS, FedEx or USP to ship the item to you.
