About

Who knows the farmhouse look better than a girl from down on the farm? Grandma Ginger has the best farm fresh finds on the prairie!

Why would a full time college administrator pack her busy life with an Etsy shop? Well, partly as a tribute to my wonderful, graceful Mom, Ginger. As the wife of an auctioneer, she learned how to spot quality workmanship, as well as great value and rich patina in items previously loved by someone else. As a result, I grew up in a loving home filled with beautiful auction finds that were often admired by our family and friends. Ginger's influence lives with me today, in large part through this store.

I also love Grandma Ginger's Closet because I am passionate about finding loving homes for one of a kind treasures from the past. These listings reflect my love of all things from a simpler time and place.

Grandma Ginger's Closet gives me a reason to go to auctions, too! I love going to auctions for many reasons, but mainly because I feel connections when I am there. I connect with the families who are selling what often represents a lifetime of work, with the hard working auctioneers who are providing for their families, and with the excitement other bidders feel upon seeing the perfect farmhouse item for their own home.

Not everyone is comfortable with a rapid fire auctioneer or competing with others to acquire something they love. I am! Not everyone likes to spend the day just waiting for a couple treasures they like to come up on the auction block. I do! I love the thrill of the hunt and the competition that an auction brings. Let me do the hard work for you.

Finally, my folks taught me to be smart and to live within my means. Translation: I know how to spot a bargain. My savings equals more value for you!

Grandma Ginger's Closet lets me honor the lessons my mother taught me about grace and beauty, while staying connected with my dad's values of hard work via the auction industry. It also represents a creative outlet that I don't quite have in my full time gig as a college administrator. But most of all, it connects me with new friends all over the world. And for that, I am grateful!

I moved to the west coast to greet new opportunities in higher education. That's why the shop has a California address rather than one from the prairie. Grandma Ginger was off the grid while she got her sea legs under her but she is ready to get back to work! The good news is that I go back to Kansas to load up on new farmhouse treasures to share with you. While I am there, if you want me to shop for something in particular, drop me a note and I will be on the lookout.

Thanks so much for taking a peek into Grandma Ginger's Closet. I look forward to meeting you!

Thanks so much for peeking into Grandma Ginger's Closet. Grandma Ginger's a real sweetie and is always happy for you to look around. Customer satisfaction is Grandma Ginger's top priority (I told you she was a sweetie) and we aren't happy unless you are. Please look closely at all descriptions and if you aren't sure about something, ask before you leap!

Payment
I accept Etsy payments. That means I accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, Paypal and Etsy gift cards. Please check that your mailing address is the same as on file with PayPal, is correct & has been verified.
Shipping
Items are shipped generally via Fed Ex Ground because they include up to $100 insurance and tracking numbers in their price. Most often it is the least expensive service from where I live and they usually deliver in 3-4 business days in the US.

So you can follow your treasure on its journey from Grandma Ginger's Closet to your mailbox, I will provide you with a tracking number. Sorry, Fed Ex can't deliver to post office box.

Books are sent via USPS via media rate.
At times, flat mailings such as envelopes and mailers and small packages are quite a bit cheaper via USPS. If that is the case, I will use them to save you the most money. My goal is to save you money, not gouge you with shipping charges! So I reserve the right to use the shipping service that I deem to be the most cost effective.

Shipping quotes reflect that I will use Fed Ex and are my best estimate based on the weight and size of the package. Should you like me to get shipping rates for your zip code and have an exact quote, convo me BEFORE you purchase with your zip code and I will get the exact shipping cost and adjust the shipping accordingly. Otherwise, I assume that you are cool with my estimate and we will go with that.

Should you need your items quicker than 3-4 days, please drop me a convo before you purchase so that we can work out the details. I'm flexible like that!

Please check to make sure you have a confirmed address with PayPal. Otherwise, it slows down delivery while we convo back and forth about confirming your address. And I know you want your treasure as quickly as possible!

To remain green, I use reclaimed packing materials whenever possible so shipping costs stay low and mounds of supplies stay out of the waste stream.
Refunds and Exchanges
This is where it can get sticky, isn't it? Here's what I think. Sometimes things get broken during delivery. I hate that and so do you. That's why I always go with insurance to cover any breakage or loss so we can avoid any unhappy feelings as much as possible.

I promise I will wrap your treasures all nice and snug, but I have no control over what some unthinking delivery person who doesn't care what fragile means does with your package. Insurance protects us both. So since everything is covered with insurance, refunds are handled only on a case by case basis. If a refund is determined to be appropriate, items must be returned to me in the exact condition in which they were shipped and in the same packaging. If I do take it back, I would really love to get it back in the same condition in which it went out!

THE (NOT SO) FINE PRINT
Please note that as a vintage item, this piece may not be in perfect condition (which is the charm of vintage). I describe items as well as I can, but I am not an expert, just a junk junkie! Therefore, all items are sold in as-is condition. Look pics over carefully and shoot me a convo with any questions before purchasing to avoid any misunderstandings.

I aim to please and want you to love your purchase as much as I do. BTW, my home is smoke-free.

I am happy to reserve items for you for a limited time so we can work out details, etc. but Grandma Ginger's closet is pretty full so after a week I will need to take them off reserve. No worries, though, as usually we can work out most details in that amount of time! Just keep me posted!
