Announcement   WELCOME TO MY SHOP! I offer FREE SHIPPING WITHIN THE UNITED STATES on all items MADE BY ME. VINTAGE items, the CUSTOMER PAYS for SHIPPING.

My Possum Pouch fleece blankets are my first Copyrighted design. I invented them a couple of years ago when I had some health issues, and I found myself spending a lot of time in my recliner. I had severe foot & hip pain, and it was very difficult for me to get comfortable; keeping my blankets wrapped around my feet and legs to ward off drafts was difficult. My husband and I sleep in ours every night. In the winter we put two of them together for extra warmth. I hope you'll give one (or two) a try! ;-)

I hope you find something that interests you. If not, thanks for looking!

About

Possum in a Pear Tree :-)

Hello! My name is Terry,

I live on my four generation family farm in Northwest Iowa my Great Grandfather Johannes, an immigrant from Belgium, bought in the early 1900’s. There is an almost 100 year old pear tree he planted still living and bearing fruit in our grove; the blossoms in the spring are beautiful. I thought by naming my business Grandpa’s Pear Tree it would, like the tree itself, be long lived, fruitful and bring a bit of beauty to everyone who encounters it; and, with a little luck enable me to help make a living doing what I love to do: creating within the boundaries of my beautiful farm.

I share my life with John, my husband of 33 years, our collie, Clare, sheltie, Clancy, & our cats Gracie, Sylvester, Maxine, Willow and Stewie.

I have a Bachelors Degree in Art. I am a collector of old singer sewing machines, which I use to do the majority of my work. My main serger is a vintage Merrow, which I was told is close to 80 years old.

I got my interest in sewing from my mother, who was a beautiful creative seamstress. I have nearly 8 years of professional sewing experience; several of them decorating clothing, including sweatshirts, & sportswear such as jackets, baseball, football, and hockey jerseys. I’ve done a lot of Tackle Twill (like applique), a technique used to sew logos, lettering and numbers on sportswear.

I am very particular about the quality of all my sewing and craft items.

I hope you find something you like!

Thanks!

Terry & my little dog too . . . :-)
