Note from shop owner My shop is temporarily closed due to order volume so that I can concentrate on the orders I do have, and will reopen once I can start to accept more orders. My Christmas cutoff date was Dec 5 so your patience with any current orders is appreciated as each one is made in the order in which it was received, and each is custom. Current production time (the time it takes to make your order before it will ship) is approx 5 business days. Thank you.

About

Personalized Gifts For Animal Lovers

Gray Dog Goods is my second shop here on Etsy. The first one being Kathryn's Collection. I wanted to create a second shop geared more towards my passion: animals and memorial items for pet lovers, so Gray Dog Goods it was!

I have been making jewelry for over 2 decades, and finally in 2015 I took the leap to start my new online venture. I feel I owe my success in this new phase of my business to my dog, Hunter, who at the time was dying from cancer so I was committed to staying home with him to care for him 24/7, and while doing that I was able to concentrate on building my business online. I was so burned out from traveling from art show to the next art show for over 20 years that this is exactly what I needed, and I haven't looked back since. Little did I even realize that while I was helping him with everything he needed, he was really helping me more...in so many ways.
Hunter mostly, and my other pets, and friends' pets have been my inspiration for so many of my designs. While Hunter was ill, and when I knew his time was coming, and when I finally lost him, I sort of became obsessed with making memorial jewelry designs. Art has always been therapy for me, and through making my designs and helping others to cope with losing their best friends, it helps me, too, on a daily basis. Having recently lost my two precious cats of 17 & 18 years, again, working on memorial designs for others has been heart mending for me. I truly understand the impact; sense of loss, heartache, and grief of losing a furry family member, as my pets ARE my kids.

My business also enables me to indulge in one of my greatest passions: animal rescue. I am involved with several animal welfare organizations including animal shelters, dog rescues, and local wildlife rehabs/rescues. When I'm not working and designing new products, I can be found out in nature with my dogs; they remind me each and every day to take a little time out to play!

Whether celebrating the love of an animal who holds a special place in your heart, or wanting to remember a beloved furry friend with a special token or memento, I'm here to try to help you do just that.
Thanks for stopping by, and don't forget to check out my other shop here on Etsy (for even more pet-related items: Kathryn'sCollection.etsy.com)

  • Katie

Owner, Designer & Photographer, Customer Service/Shipper/I Do Everything

I'm a dog/cat mom, an animal rescuer, and jewelry designer. My jewelry designs convey my passion for animals, and I love being able to share this with others here on Etsy, and by doing so I also help animals in need.

  • Willow (aka Willie)

Top Model At GDG, Moral Support, Design Inspiration

Willow is the main inspiration behind Gray Dog Goods. She is my first Weimaraner, and she's the subject of many of photographs used for my cards/canvas prints. She is so incredibly smart, and she's always stuck to me like velcro.

  • Piper (aka Pippy Dippy)..need not say more ;)

    Paper Shredder, Security, Design Inspiration/Model

Piper is my second Weimaraner (Gray Dog). She is the model on my home page, as she will stand perfectly still for hours on end watching fish in the lake, so she's a great one to photograph. She is the subject in many of the photos on my cards.

  • Rocky (aka Rockstar)

Security, Moral Support, Paper Shredder In Training

Rocky is my second rescued German Shorthaired Pointer. We rescued him from a life of living outside (in WI!) in a small cage for 8 years, to now living the life of luxury. He's my right-hand boy, always by my side, a real gentle giant.

  • Willis (he came with the name)

Head Security Guard - Nothing Gets Past Him, Best Cuddler Of The Pack, Assistant

Willis is my third rescued German Shorthaired Pointer; the youngest and most recent addition to our pack. We temporarily fostered him & he was just too good to let go of, so we kept him. After running him for an hour + a day, we come home and work.

  • Hunter (RIP my sweet boy)

Design Inspiration, He's Why This Shop On Etsy Exists, He Made Me A Better Person

RIP Hunter (aka Hooty Booty) My first rescued German Shorthaired Pointer - he is the inspiration behind my pet memorial designs, which I obsessively designed while he was ill and after losing him. He is the reason I now have my 2 rescued GSP boys.

  • Emma (RIP Jan 2018)

Thinks She Is A Dog, Therefore Is A Dog, Queen Of The Dogs

RIP my sweet Emma girl. We had her for 18 years, recently losing her as 2017 turned into 2018. She ruled the roost. She was boss kitty. She loved being one of the pack. The pack loved and respected her. Maybe they thought she was a skunk.

  • Loki (aka Oak Oak) (RIP)

Design Inspiration, Sweetest Kitty Boy That Ever Lived

Loki (RIP) My sweet, dear 17 yr-old boy. Loki was the first kitty love of my life, so much so, that I wanted another, and that was when we rescued a little girl named Emma. Emma lived a year after we lost Loki, and she missed him dearly.

Frequently asked questions
Gift wrapping and packaging

All of my items are packaged for gift giving, whether ordering for a gift or for yourself.

Care instructions

Instructions are included with all jewelry items.

Can I order just a charm?

I only sell my items as finished products, not individual pieces/charms.

How can I add a name plate or charm to my item?

Please look under the tabs on my main page under "add-ons". You will find add-on items there. However, some add-ons are not suitable to add to an item, so if the item doesn't already show that particular add-on in the item's listing photos, please ask me first before adding it. I hold the right to remove it from your order if it won't work (for example: adding a name plate to a necklace that doesn't already show one - it won't work and will be too big).
