5 out of 5 starsWhat a darling beret! So soft and comfy with just the right amount of stretch and 'slouch'..looks just like the pic but even cuter on. 😍Shipped right away with a follow up note from the shop, which I appreciated.👍 I love the vintage vibe of berets but the wool ones make me itchy, so this is the perfect solution..I'll definitely be ordering more colors!🌈

Finished product. I'm leaf rich!

The tip of the iceberg!
When people come into my shop, the remark is often "these are such Great Hats!"~ Thus the name Great Hat!
When I started this business with a partner in 1994 we had no idea what the internet was. How far it has come!
We started making hats for our kids out of necessity. Other kids wanted some of the funky designs we had come up with and Great Hat! was born. We traveled around New England chasing craft shows...trying to find the "good ones" . We finally realized we were spending more on show fees, gas and hotels than our little business could support.
Seven years later I bought out my partner. That meant I was now the owner of a craft table, some foam heads, a few boxes of buttons, trim, some rhinestone jewelry, and a few tubs of hats.
I managed to get my hats into a few Art Galleries. Since covid and everything shutting down, I have pulled out of all other retail markets. I have no plans to reenter any time soon. The bulk of my business has been online between my website, Ebay and Etsy. http://www.greathat.com
After 28 years my business is feeling cramped working from home. I have a very small work room. All cutting is done by hand on my kitchen table. My basement is piled high with bolts of fleece, tubs of cut hats waiting to be sewn and more tubs of velvet and trims. I dream of having an actual studio, however I do love having everything right here at my fingertips. I don't have to leave the house to go to work.
For a little peek into what I'm doing, and more photos, check out my Facebook page. I'll be posting pictures regularly. Please "like"

I love creating hats, I love working from home. I will continue until it's not fun anymore.

Please check and update your shipping address. I cannot be responsible for shipments made to an incorrect address. When a package is returned to me I will reship at the buyers expense. Missing packages must be reported to me within 14 days of shipment. Contact me and I can try to track them down.
Domestic Shipping: I ship USPS first class. You will receive a notice and a tracking number when you hat ships. USPS is pretty good at getting hats delivered within 3 or 4 days within the continental USA. Occasionally a hat will get sent off on an extended tour. This is out of my control. If your hat has trouble finding you please contact me first and maybe we can locate it together. This is rare but it does happen.
International Shipping: I ship USPS first class international. If you are ordering several hats please contact me before ordering and I may be able to reduce the shipping charge. It is very hard to calculate exact charges as hats have different weights. Please include your phone number customs forms and my postal insurance carrier require it. I cannot refund shipping on parcels that cannot be delivered to the given address. Please be sure that you will be available to accept your package when it arrives.
ATTENTION, INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS:
I have no way to collect any customs, duty or VAT charges when sending packages. Any customs fees, taxes, tariffs, duties, etc. that may be charged at the time of import/delivery are the responsibility of the buyer. For any additional information, contact your local customs agency before you make a purchase.
Delays at import Customs are not uncommon; I have no control over any resulting delays from them and do not guarantee delivery by a specific date for that reason. Please be patient, as international shipment may take as little as one week or as much as two months on rare occasions! Delays are to be expected during higher-volume mailing periods, such as the pre-Christmas shopping season.
