A lifetime making everyone sparkle just a little bit more!
I have been working in the jewelry business since I was 16 years old (and that was a Loooooooong time ago) and have loved every minute of it. I have worked retail, and wholesale, worked for others, and for the past 28 years worked for myself. I have been designing jewelry for 25 years.
I work in CAD (Computer Aided Design) and next to my computer is a wonderful 3D printer, so I can print my designs in a castable resin. What does that mean? It means I design for specific gemstones, sizing the piece especially for YOU. Not a piece "off the shelf" that 10,000 other people have... this one is made for YOU, in YOUR size, it's a 'one of one' piece. I then take that "castable resin" from my desktop printer and cast it myself. I then polish the piece to a soft glow. I then do a final cleaning, box it pretty and ship it out to you. Yes you read that all correctly. Your piece is made by me from the design, through the casting and poishing and setting, right here in Maryland (I am located just outside Washington DC).
I have also started a new line of sorority jewelry! That is how GreeKeys began. My one daughter rushed a sorority I wasn't crazy about anything that I found online. So I began designing. It started just to make her something special, then her roommates wanted one made for their sororities. I wanted to get started, but I also wanted to help the sororities raise money for scholarships and their philanthropies. I contacted headquarters, that is when I learned about licensing. All of the designs for these sorority pieces have been approved by the headquarters of each of the respective sororities. Did you know that each chapter of each sorority spends hours and hours of their time raising money for their sorority's chosen philanthropy? Make a Wish, Breast Cancer, Autism, Literacy, Reading is Fundamental, Children's Miracle Network, St, Judes Children's Research Hospital, just to name a few. A percentage of each sale of my sorority pieces goes directly back to the sorority for these wonderful charities and for scholarships.
I am also visiting college campuses, and women's groups, speaking to women about women, in business. I've had some experience, and I want to share my stories and inspire and mentor other women to become entrepreneurs.
The pieces are all designed and manufactured here in Maryland. No overseas production here! I will be posting videos of me at the bench polishing and finishing jewelry in my workshop.
This is a new chapter in my life. I have decided to work more "personally". Jewelery made for you. Bespoke, Custom, Unique.
