The quills are nicely cut and surprisingly easy to write with. The ink looks great as well! It dries much darker than it appears when you first write with it. Makes for fun reenactment.

Medieval Scribe Enters the Twenty First Century

In 2005 I walked into a medieval calligraphy and illumination activity night not sure what I was going to be doing. Eleven years later and thousands of hours of practice, research and traveling to learn and to teach, here I am in the twenty first century selling my work and my products. This is certainly not the end of my journey but I never thought I would ever get to where I am now. I love it.

From the first time I made ink in a friend's kitchen to having taught hundreds of people their first lessons in making ink and other scribal tools and supplies it has been a wonderful time full of friendships, books, manuscripts, and okay some frustrations too. This isn't what I expected and I'm happy to be able to help others with their calligraphy and scribal supplies wherever you may be in your place or journey.

Why Green Man?

The Green Man symbol was developed and used separately in countries and religions around the world. It is most often a symbol of growth, health and goodness. You can find Green Men pervasively adorning Christian cathedrals wherever in the world they may be.

I also happen to like the color green that I often get greeted with "Hello green man," so it was just a natural progression to start to use the symbol for me.

Shipping multiple items

I am happy to mix and match products in shipping so that shipping will be the cheapest possible it can be for you. I know that close half my purchasing costs come from paying shipping. Let's work together so that you don't have to pay more than is needed.
