I didn't write "positive" because the item was damaged during shipping. It's beautiful, but the damage indicates it either wasn't sturdily glued prior to shipping or should have been more carefully packed for shipping. Other than that, it's great.

About

SIMPLY S- Sustainable Items from the Lowcountry

...After many, many years of living in Northern California, we moved to the low country of South Carolina only a few years ago. With its magnificent and ever changing tides, there is so much diversity in the local environment. I have been known to walk the roads and through the marsh rack to collect garbage that has washed up on the edges. It is up to us to be stewards of this fragile environment and to keep the plastics out of our waterways. While gathering garbage, I came up with the idea to create home accessories that would keep the trash from entering the waste stream but yet, add a unique flair to someone's home. The cork wreath was my first foray into upcyling and I have since partnered with a local restaurant to ensure that their corks will not be thrown away. The coffee filter tree was created from used filters that could not be recycled. The coffee grinds are used in our gardens but those pesky #4 filters would normally have been thrown in the trash. They have now found a new home. My idea is to continue to use nature's waste as well as waste generated from human consumption. Please enjoy and purchase any of these one of a kind products and, if you have a request for something that you would like to have custom made, please do not hesitate to contact me for a price.

Why would anyone want to throw away items when there is always the possibility to create something beautiful from the discarded materials? I guess that is the reason I started this shop. My motto: Uniqueness through creativity by upcycling.
