I love this handkerchief. It was carried and used by me during my daughter's wedding this past weekend. I will cherish it as a keepsake to remember this beautiful wedding! Lynda C.

Updates

I bought an amazing box of vintage linens at an auction over the weekend. Some sheets, curtains, pillowcases, fabric, and what I think was a bed ruffle. All washed up and starting to cut out some more pajama shorts. Great colors, huh?
Looking forward to the upcoming season of Outlander!
Miniature millinery in progress. Tiny lace sun hats that's go on my popular beachcomber's clotheslines. Perfect for your beach or lake side garden.

Vintage Wedding Handkerchiefs, Vintage Linen Creations, Fairy Garden Miniatures and Ladies Chemo Hats

I love vintage linens. I like to imagine where they have been in their first life, give them some love and a little ironing, and send them on to their next home. Whether this is in the bouquet of a young bride or an upcycled creation, I want them to have some more life.

I think of myself as the "hanky rescuer". Most of these linens are too special to be in some cardboard box under a table at an estate sale or getting rained on at a flea market. I buy them, take them home, and wash and press them.

Sometimes they need to live with me for awhile before I can see another purpose for them. Other times, they are snatched up by a bride or her friend for the perfect shower gift. I had a young lady tell me that my monogrammed hanky was the only item she was buying for herself for her wedding. It was to become her first family heirloom. My hankies have been upcycled into fairy clothes, aprons, baby clothes, and holiday decorations.

I began making the various chemotherapy hats when some friends and relatives needed them. Some are sewn and some are knit. At that point in time, I didn't know I would be needing to wear them. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in October of 2014 and just finished my chemotherapy in March of 2015. It became evident how important the comfort and fit of these hats are to me when I didn't have hair. I go out of my way to make the insides seam free, lined with soft fabric, or comfortable when I can. Big thanks to my mom, who helps me knit some of the sleep caps.

I hope you will enjoy some of the photos from the farm.
