About GreenhowHandMade

We believe in making every piece unique, by hand, paying attention to every detail and bringing out its true beauty. This unwillingness to break from our principles gives all our pieces a truly signature look, and gives every piece a story to be told.

In 2009, Patrick and Leye Blount purchased a farm outside of Athens, Georgia and named their little piece of paradise Greenhow Farms. They became frequent vendors at many of the local farmers markets; in addition to their produce, Patrick would take many of his wood and hand forged pieces to offer the market goers. These items where naturally dubed "Greenhow Handmade". It stuck, and today Greenhow Handmade is truly a mark of quality. Here at Greenhow Handmade, Patrick sources all of his own lumber: most of these trees he fells himself here at the farm and logs them out with his draft horse, Bonnie. Others are brought down by storms or cut on other farms. Patrick owns his own sawmill and mills every piece of lumber he uses. This ensures that he is getting the highest quality lumber possible. Patrick uses no store bought lumber. Patrick is a trained Blacksmith and most of the iron he uses is salvaged from other farms, out of junk yards, or found on the side of the road. We believe in making every piece unique, by hand, paying attention to every detail and bringing out its true beauty. We believe this unwillingness to break from our principles gives all our pieces a truly signature look, and gives every piece a story to be told.

    Work Horse

Bonnie is quite literally the work horse of Greenhow Handmade. She helps with logging and hauling wood around the farm.

  • Patrick

    Owner, Maker, Designer

Patrick is the Renaissance man of Greenhow Handmade. He's the resident design genius, wood worker, blacksmith, ceramicist, and photographer. Not to mention, his ability to move logs 10 times his weight, earning him the nickname of "human ant."

  • Leye

    Owner, Maker, Assistant

Leye is Greenhow Handmade's maker that specializes in all things needing a "feminine touch." She loves all things soft goods related: sewing, weaving, knitting, and felting. Fun fact: she helped start a knitting club her freshman year in college.

  • Linus

    Maker

Linus will give you the shirt right off his back....well, more like he will sell you his fleece. Linus is one of our sheep we use to produce our sheared wool items. He gets a haircut, you get a beautiful one of a kind piece.
