Hello everyone. During this time I want to reach out and let everyone know that we are still here in our little shop trying to stay safe and healthy and are thinking and praying for all of the other Etsy shops, their shop keepers and of course all of our wonderful customers. We have decided to, for the time being, to keep our shop open so that people can at least visit and see the items we have available along with the stories that are attached.

Initially, we had an update stating that we had discontinued sales because we were concerned that there could be a chance that our package may pick up the Covid 19 virus along it's route to our customers but then we had a few people reach out to ask how firm we were in that decision. They too, were staying home but as everyone tries to have as normal of a life as we can right now they were also celebrating special events with loved ones and wanted to have unique gifts without going out. And since traditional brick and mortar shops have been closed it has left them with being limited to online shopping.

Since right now none of us in our shop or home are feeling unwell and to our knowledge have not had anyone that we are in close contact with become ill we will resume shipping out any orders a customer wants as long as the USPS continues on as normal. Of course every day is different so updates may follow.

If a customer orders an item we will wrap it up as quickly as we can and set that package aside, untouched for 24-48 hours. USPS will pick it up at our shop and once the order has been delivered to the customer they can, if they wish, set that package aside for another 24 hours or so before opening. Articles we have read suggest the Covid 19 virus can live on cardboard about 24 hours or so. We know it sounds silly and overly cautious but we would never want to be directly or indirectly responsible for one of our customers to become ill.

Also, there are no items in our shop that we plan on discontinuing unless one our molds becomes damaged. So if you're being cautious and waiting to do any shopping until later you needn't worry that you may miss out on a particular piece.

If you have questions or information please feel free to contact us and we will reply. Thank you for your continued visits and favorites because we do love meeting others who share our interests. We wish all of you well and hope you're coping well in isolation.

Love always. XXX OOO

Art, for the love of it!

Since I was very young, art has been an important part of my life. Without it, I don't know what I would do or who I would be. Although I love working with all sorts of materials, I have attempted to incorporate the things in my life that give me joy into my art. The result is the fired clay items that you see in our shop.

I love the history of old cemeteries. Thinking of the people who have come before us, the skill and craftsmanship of the person who created these hand carved one of a kind gravestones, the love of the person who commissioned the headstone, all these things I thought about as I explored these places. It made me so sad to see these stones damaged through time, nature or even worse, vandalism. To think that very soon this piece of wonderful art could be lost forever! So we put our heads together. How could we, in some small way, save and preserve these images so that they could continue on? We didn't want to harm a headstone or leave materials sticking to it so after much thought we were able to find a way to create a master impression that was completely non damaging and respectful to the gravestone, cemetery and the gravesite! Now, due to the gift of a kiln to our studio, we can share with those who love these tombstones a unique piece of art for their home, patio or garden.

More than a few customers requested information on who the stone belonged to and where it was located so now I offer some historical information with my items when I can. Sometimes I can provide information on nothing, as to that the original piece has been part of my own collection for years, sometimes I can share many facts such as military service, family history and in the case of the stone belonging to Charles Barnes I found information leading to the cause of his early death. I now wish I had more interest in the history of the people whose stones I visited and admired all those years because I was really more interested in the art of the stone rather than the names. It is true that one stone can have many, many stories to share!

Thank you all for your interest and for visiting our shop! May all of you have available to you the things that you love and enjoy to make your lives richer!
