Announcement   Limited listings available on Etsy now, to see more please visit me at www.grizzlylcustomsteel.com. All of the listings here can only be customized to change the wording. All custom requests (ie changing fonts, elements...anything that requires special design work) - please fill out the quote request here: http://www.grizzlycustomsteel.com/request-custom-sign/.

Production time is currently: AVERAGING 1 MONTH. I don't message every day - I'm working on a lot of orders at any given time and my inboxes are always overflowing. I'm always faster at replying to messages sent directly to me at info [!at] grizzlycustomsteel.com. I depend on a lot of equipment to create metalwork, and I'm my repair guy. It fluctuates with workload and equipment, but in most cases your sign will ship faster than one month, in rare cases it could take two. I know you're excited to receive your metal sign - you're ordering custom metalwork which takes time, skill and talent. Please be patient, you will receive tracking as soon as your sign is on its way. Your custom sign will be worth the wait and you're in good hands!

Welcome to my metal art shop…Grizzly Custom Steel! I tame plain sheets of steel into rustic handcrafted metal signs for your home, office and garden. Please also visit me at my website www.grizzlycustomsteel.com.

My metalworking process is rugged, but I love every minute of it. I began my metal taming career freehanding custom artwork and lettering onto sheet metal, then cut everything out by hand which gave me a broader understanding of the magic of cutting metal. I now use a combination of hand and machine cutting which has taken my signs to the next level with straighter, more skilled cuts. The reward is a rustic metal sign that is professional quality; it’s the perfect balance of rugged and precise. After cutting, grinding and taming the metal signs, I treat them to a metal etch which creates the distinct colors you’ll see in the etched Grizzly Custom Steel pieces. The colors vary between golds, purples, rusty reds and rich browns that play on the metal’s surface to create natural, unexpected texture. I’ve developed all of my own secret steel etch formulas – nobody else in the industry has them. Because of my etching process, no two of my metal signs will ever be the same. Ever. In fact, even the same batch of etch will play on two sheets of steel differently depending on the metal, texture and even the weather. I finish all signs (except rust) with powder coat which is the most durable, high quality coating available. I also have some powder coat colors that I use. When you purchase a Grizzly Custom Steel metal sign, you get a customizable, one-of-a-kind original work of art that is unique and like no other. Speaking of customizable, I also do all of the graphic design work in-shop.

Because my metal taming process is so rugged and involved, please respect my production time – go here to see current production times: http://www.etsy.com/shop/GrizzlyCustomSteel/policy?ref=shopinfo_policies_leftnav. Production time varies depending on my workload. I enjoy interacting with my Etsy customers, but hold back on convo’ing me about shipping times or the status of your sign. I don't have a secretary and I should be out in my shop…fabricating signs!

Join me on my facebook page: www.facebook.com/grizzlycustomsteel and Instagram #grizzlycustomsteel to keep up with my work and see an insider’s view of what goes on behind-the-scenes at Grizzly Custom Steel. You’ll also get treated to random pictures of my awesome, smiley pit bull-mix puppy who is the official Grizzly Custom Steel Mascot (which is a very important job indeed).

No custom work other than lettering changes for the exact designs shown on these listings may originate on Etsy or through Etsy convos so that we keep a good rapport with and don't infringe on Etsy's guidelines for sellers. My main business is at www.grizzlycustomsteel.com where I create custom metal art including advanced logos and fully customizable metal signs. Thank you for your understanding!

Normal Production time: AVERAGES one month

Sometimes it’s faster; sometimes it’s a little longer depending on my current volume of orders. If you need your order earlier or have a need-by date, please purchase the expedite listing here: http://www.etsy.com/listing/115429596/expedited-order-purchase-please-see?ref=cat_gallery_3. It’s the only way I track a need-by request. I do not otherwise accommodate need-by dates. It’s impossible for me to keep track of everybody’s schedule.

When purchasing custom work, please be very specific and leave ALL your customization details in the message to seller at checkout rather than convo'ing me about them after purchase. This includes colors, wording, style and sizing. I don't see our convos when I'm out in my shop metalworking. I will make your sign as described in the 'notes to seller' on your order.

Hi –

I’m Nic Merchant, Metal Tamer…the guy behind all of the metal signs here at Grizzly Custom Steel.

My goal as the owner of Grizzly Custom Steel is to provide you with metal art that astonishes you and your friends & family; and to provide stellar customer service while I’m at it.

I take pride my work and my distinct metalworking process…aka metal taming. To see my metal taming process in action, check out my Youtube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/GrizzlyCustomSteel. You’ll see that when you purchase a Grizzly Custom Steel metal sign, you get an original piece of art that is plasma cut and/or welded with my own two hands for a rustic look that is signature to Grizzly Custom Steel -- you can’t find it anywhere else. I also use metal etches to treat the steel and create unique finishes that are a big part of the Grizzly Custom Steel signature look.

Part of the Grizzly Custom Steel philosophy is to give back. I donate a percentage of each sale to Best Friends Animal Society for the awesome work they do. Check them out: www.bestfriends.org.

Shipping
All my signs are lovingly packed with the utmost in care using top quality packaging materials so that your shipment arrives at its destination in tip-top condition. A lot of time and heart goes into making each sign so every order ships with insurance and delivery confirmation so we can all rest easily once your sign leaves my hands and becomes the responsibility of USPS or FedEx. USPS Standard Post shipping usually takes 2-8 days transit in the US. International orders ship USPS Priority International and usually arrive in about 7 days, but indefinite Customs holds for your country could occur in rare cases. I am in no way responsible for international import taxes.

I send shipping confirmation with tracking for each order so you’ll know when it’s on its way to you.

Any packages returned to me as a result of an incorrect provided shipping address or non-deliverability will be reshipped at your cost.

USPS or FedEx failures are not my fault and are in no way a reflection of my product or customer service.
Refunds and Exchanges
Refunds and Exchanges: All of my metalwork is made to order. I purchase your metal when you place your order, so there are no refunds. If your sign arrives with damage, I’ll ship a replacement and we’ll work with USPS or FedEx to file the insurance claim. If there is ever a mistake on my behalf, I’ll ship a new sign.

Overall, I want you to love your Grizzly Custom Steel sign! I’ll work with you until we come to a reasonable solution if ever there’s a problem with your order. I do my very best in every aspect of operating my business. Please be thoughtful when providing feedback on my shop – it’s my livelihood!
Additional policies and FAQs
Bring on your custom sign ideas! Most of my signs are personalizable just for you – convo me with your ideas and I’ll send you some designs to get started.

FAQs

Q) What is the metal etch finish on your metal signs?
A) Most of my signs are treated with a metal etch which is a solution of salts and acids that react with the surface of the steel to create different colors and effects. They’re way cooler than flat paint and create the rustic appearance that my work is known for. To protect the patina and bring out the steel’s luster, I finish with a top grade UV resistant clear coat.

Q) Don’t you think your shop mascot should be a grizzly bear?
A) Shhhhh…you wouldn’t want my pit-mix girl to hear you asking that!

Q) What is your metal taming process?
A) You can read all about it in my Shop Announcement here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/GrizzlyCustomSteel

Q) Are the metal signs durable?
A) Yes! They’re made from thick, 14 or 16 gauge steel. I take pride in all my welds – did you know that the weld is actually the most durable part of the metal when done masterfully? If your sign is meant to rust out in the garden, it will last a hundred years or more so no worries there either.

Q) How do I care for my metal sign?
A) If your sign is clear coated and placed outside, you may need to touch it up with a new coat of clear paint as needed, which depends on the conditions it’s exposed to. I recommend Rust-Oleum Painter’s Touch Ultra Cover 2X in Gloss which can found at Ace Hardware. If you choose another brand, be sure it is non-yellowing and rated for UV resistance.

If your sign is placed indoors, it shouldn’t require anything more than a quick cleaning with a damp rag from time to time.

Q) Do you do custom personalizations and orders?
A) Absolutely! Convo me to get started. I’ll send you an image with some design layouts for you to choose from and customize and then I’ll bring your vision to life in a metal sign.

Q) How do I hang/display my new metal sign?
A) Most of my metal signs come with holes for easy placement on your wall with nails or screws. Some of my signs are designed to be hung using small finish nails inside a couple of the letter cutouts.

Q) How much does a Grizzly Custom Steel metal sign weigh?
A) On average, my metal signs weigh between 5 and 10 pounds. They’re solid steel, but not restrictively heavy.
