Stitching for Smiles
Sara learned needlework and knitting as a child, passed down to her by a long line of crafters- her grandmother, great aunt, and great grandmother were all masters of needlework: embroidery, cross stitch, knitting, and crochet. Some of their talents filtered down to Sara, and were mostly forgotten by the wayside of a busy career and graduate school. Fast forward to an intermission courtesy of chronic illness, and Sara found herself returning to needle crafts for familiar comforts and therapy.
When Sara's struggle with chronic disease rendered her unable to work, she discovered immense happiness in lifting the spirits of friends and family around her. Sara soon found herself creating her own needlework designs to channel her desire to brighten someone's else's day. When a design concept keeps her smiling throughout completion of the project, she knows that an item is likely to make the recipient smile or even provoke a chuckle.
From warming hearts to causing giggles, Sara's home art and wearables are truly special items stitched by hand with love. Every person has their own battles, and small acts of kindness can do wonders for emotional well-being. Share Sara's creations with your loved ones, and spread the smiles!
