I've always enjoyed creating and carving. I began carving gourds in 2009 while vacationing with my family in Canada. Several gourds later, friends and family encouraged me to begin offering my art pieces for sale, and Groovy Gourds was born. Groovy Gourds is a registered Missouri business and I currently sell through my home and personal contacts, on line, and locally in downtown Cape Girardeau, Missouri at MoZaic Art Studio.

I'm just a simple gourd carver who's been given the talent and opportunity to create. I enjoy designing new patterns and expressing my creativity through the transformation of a dried gourd into an art piece. Given my love of nature, many of my art pieces include natural themes, which blend nicely with the organic nature of gourds. My enjoyment of playing traditional Celtic music is also expressed in my use of incorporating Celtic designs.

Early on, I realized that I wanted my gourd carving to be more than just an enjoyable art business. I was led to make a difference in the lives of starving children. But instead of trying to solve the world's problems, I felt God wanted me to concentrate on "one" - one dollar, one child, one day. For these reasons, when an art piece sells, for every dollar spent, one child is fed for one day through the "Feed My Starving Children" organization. My hope is that through my enjoyment of creating these pieces and your enjoyment of owning them will save the lives of many children.
