Gave as a gift and was loved by everyone. So cute, comfy and warm for nyc winters.

I've been looking everywhere for a good knit cap that wasn't to baggy or loose, this cap is the perfect fit, can't wait for the weather to cool down so I can start wearing it. Thank you so much.

About

Handmade products for everyday use!

Welcome to GuRu Originals, a joint effort between husband and wife, Mary and Guy. We came up with the name GuRu by combining the first two letters of each of our middle names.

The goal of GuRu Originals is to provide handmade items to our customers that can be used everyday. We love handmade items ourselves and wanted to share that with others in such a way that is affordable.

Mary, Susan and Tracy are the main designers and makers of the things in our shop. Guy is the main photographer and overall sounding board for GuRu Originals.

We are not a big fancy super store, we want you to feel at home and comfortable with us. Feel free to convo us to ask for custom items, ask questions pertaining to our items, or even just to get to know us better.

From Mary:
I have been crocheting since I was 7, which gives me over 30 years of experience in this handcraft art. I have learned the best yarns to use, and which patterns/stitches give the best drape and durability to the yarns I work with. I have spent years perfecting my own designs and I update them often to display the current trends and fashions, while still providing the highest quality of handcraft crochet art that I believe is possible.

Crocheted items have traditionally all looked the same and patterns don't change much, I've stepped out of that mold to bring a fresh eye and new look to the world of crochet!

I do make other items from various craft types and mediums, however, crochet is my main love!

From Susan:
I have been blessed with 3 children and the opportunity to work from home to be with them while they grow up. I started knitting in my teens, making doll dresses. Life got busy and I put my knitting needles down for a while. I recently picked them back up and I'm working to get back into my much loved hobby. As time goes on, I hope to have other items listed as well.

From Tracy:
I've been crocheting now for about 10 years, ever since Mary and a bunch of other crazy women taught me how to via the internet and crochet group we were in (this is before all the fancy video's they have out now). I haven't stopped since! I love designing new items, and one of my passions is designing items for those of us full figured women who find it hard to find good/quality hand made items out there for us. I also truly enjoy beading, painting, wood working, ceramics, and whatever else I can get my hands onto, yet like Mary, crochet is my main love as well!

I love putting a fresh look onto crochet! I have so many ideas yet only so much time!
