Beautiful piece! I added this to my chabako ensemble as it's the perfect size. Few ceramicists practice tea ceremony outside of Japan, although more make "tea bowls." I appreciated the sensitivity of his design as the textural humps on the outside of the bowl flow clockwise, so when you wipe the bowl during service, the cloth glides over them and doesn't get caught. Wonderful!

This beautiful chawan arrived safely and is already chosen to be "in service" at Burning Man.

Even more beautiful in real life. These tea cups are light and smooth; easy to hold. Even with the texture I would not call them sharp or abrasive since they nest easily and comfortably in my hands.
On a note unrelated to this order I also have to say that the owner of this shop has amazing customer service and went above and beyond for me. If one were vacillating between ordering from this shop or another I would highly recommend this one.

This Yunomi is much better then pictured and has a nice feel in hand. The glaze is amazing and like how it pooled down towards the foot. The shipping was rapid and the sellers prices can't be beat for this type of quality. Will continue to watch this seller for future interest.
