Announcement    Picking colors, melting the glass in my kiln, pulling and twisting the rod, is the first step in making the drops. After the glass rod is cooled I go to my torch to melt the glass again and let gravity shape the drop. I pair the drops that look alike, and they become the base for my timeless earrings. I grind the tips of the drops and glue the sterling silver findings to them. The result is a one of a kind glass and sterling silver pair of earrings.
If there is a color you want, or, if you want more than one of the same color/rod just let me know. Ill be happy to work with you.

My post earrings are made from cut dichroic glass. I shape and grind them before they are melted in a kiln. The fused glass is then glued onto the sterling silver post.

The dichroic drop earrings are made by first fusing the glass in the kiln and then melting the rod into drops.

Each pair of earrings is handmade by me.

Thanks for looking.

Guustie.

About Guustie

On Etsy since 2009

Glass is my passion.

I’ve been working with glass for over 20 years. I do not limit myself to one way of working with glass. I use it in jewelry, I blow glass, I fuse glass, I cast glass and I make 2D wall hangings. In the wall hangings I either use fused glass and oil paints or I cut glass to make a mosaics.

I like to keep my jewelry simple and elegant. The drops are shaped through gravity and heat. I can include color where I want but in the end it is the force of nature that gives the glass the shape. For the last couple of years I have only used sterling silver to finish the jewelry. The glass and silver are materials that are timeless.
