Let's journey to make your visions materialize!

Liz Granberg, the owner of Gypsy Dreamer Quilts, was born and rasied in California's San Francisco Bay Area. She moved to Kansas in 1983 to raise her children in the slower paced Midwest, and after more than 30 years fully considers herself a Kansan.

Liz started sewing at age 9 when her auntie taught her to make stuffed animals on the same Singer 301A that she uses for most of her quilt piecing today. Her sewing experience spans more than 50 years and includes many years making clothing for herself and her family, as well as custom orders. Her knack for combining elements from different patterns to create one-of-a-kind designs assure that every item is unique.

Liz started quilting in 2006 while caring for her elderly father and quickly made the transition from a lifetime of sewing to becoming passionate about quilting. Her quilts have a flavor all their own as she creates unique layouts and color play for one-of-a-kind quilts. She considers herself a prolific quilter as she has already made over 80 quilts! Liz has entered numerous quilts over the years in the Lyon County, Douglas County, and Kansas State Fairs, taking ribbons including many blues and Grand Champion.

Liz learned to free motion quilt on her sewing machine where she spent six years quilting everything from mug-rugs to queen size quilts. In 2012 she upgraded to a HandiQuilter Sweet 16 sit-down quilting machine and now provides custom quilting to the local quilting community.

Recently, Liz made her first commercial sample for Paintbrush Studio that was displayed at the 2016 Spring International Quilt Market in Salt Lake City. She has created a pattern based on her original Hexified Panel Quilt design that is now available on her etsy shop. Liz is also taking her Hexified Panel Quilt trunk show on the road to guilds. Contact us for more information.

Liz teaches a variety of classes at Quilters' Paradise in Baldwin City, Kansas, and at Quilting Bits & Pieces, in Eudora, Kansas; continues to take on commission work, and provides custom quilting for the local quilting community. She is a member of the Maple Leaf Quilt Guild, Kaw Valley Quilters Guild, Emporia Regional Quilt Guild, and the Mo-Kan Machine Quilters Guild. She enjoys going to quilt retreats with friends.
