About

from sea to farm........

OUR STORY::

A long time ago while living in a small Alaskan town, a young man was a sailor on a ship. He met a young girl in that town far away from his own home. They fell in love and got married, and had babies..... and traveled around like gypsies.

Then, many years later when the babies were mostly grown, they decided to leave their beloved sea and buy a plot of old farmland nestled in the foothills between the Green Mountains of Vermont and the Adirondacks of New York.

The farm needed a name, of course. And the two remembered the very first ship, the Sweetbrier. She was the beginning of the first leg of their journey, so they thought it only fitting to honor her in the next leg as well.

Sweetbrier Farms was born.

THE MAKERS::

It turns out that sailor guy really loves making pottery. And that girl he married really loves all things to do with botany and fiber.

Joe's pottery pieces are nature inspired and one of a kind. They are made from earthenware clay and food safe lead-free glazes.

Stephinie's handcrafted herbal goods are made in small batches using responsibly wildcrafted, homegrown and organic ingredients. Her nature inspired playsilks are dyed with low impact eco-friendly dyes and make wonderful natural toys for children of all ages.

COME JOIN US::

Right now, we live on the south coast of Massachusetts on a small homestead with our family of six. We tend a garden, a small flock of chickens, and few beehives while we dream and save to make the move north to the farm full time. (Hopefully by the summer of 2018.)

We welcome you to follow us on our blog, Instagram, and Facebook for farm updates and homesteading adventures!

Thank you for choosing to support our small family business!
