I ordered a custom plush of my dog Betsy as a surprise for my husband. Claire paid attention to detail and captured Betsy perfectly! It is well made and she even stitched "Betsy" on the back. Our family will treasure this replica of our first dog for years to come.

Loved this item and even cuter in person! Claire was nothing but sweet and enthused to help capture exactly what I had given her. Her skills are amazing and I will definitely be ordering from her again!

About

A creative journey through my many interests.

Arts and crafts have always been an important part of my life. Since I was a young girl, my parents introduced me to pen and paper-and I was hooked. I would doodle funny creatures, paint and draw dinosaurs and monsters.
In elementary school, I soaked up all of the crafty activities in class, such as drawing my first ever picture of a ship, making a reindeer from a clothes-hanger and a piece of stocking, and other exciting explorations. I remember playing with clay at a young age, creating a mother holding her baby child in her arms. I didn't paint it, but I brought it home to show my parents and I was so proud! I drew all throughout elementary school, middle school and high school-and I wrote a ton! I loved journaling (still do) and I always dreamed of somehow sharing my thoughts and ideas with others through writing and illustration.

In elementary school and junior high, I won various awards for my artwork, and received many compliments from my teachers for my creative writing and story telling, but I never really saw my own potential until high school. It was there that I took a serious studio art class and won an award for one of my large pencil drawings by the Utah Board of Commissioners, a picture of my dachshund dog sleeping calmly over the wooden canvas. I remember walking through the gallery set up by the Board of Commissioners and seeing my drawing hanging between other young artists' works and thinking to myself -wow, I can't believe it!- I continued to draw steadily for my own high school art show, where I produced a full wall of artwork for my final production.

My introduction to etsy came at around the same time. I was 17 years old, searching through the internet for cool drawing inspiration, when I stumbled upon a very cute piece of artwork being sold on Etsy.com. I had to investigate. What was etsy? Could I sell my art there too? I perused the site for a while and felt completely inspired! It was then that I made my first etsy shop, supplying it with a few pieces of artwork and some handmade bracelets. When I sold my first piece of artwork-a colorful drawing of two imaginary flowers on a black background, I was elated, and jumped around squealing excitedly and dancing around the house to celebrate. Before this, I had always been shy and unsure about my artwork, but with that first sale I knew right then that sharing it with others was what I wanted to do.

All through college, I found solace and contentment during the times when I painted or picked up a pen and paper to draw or write a poem or even recall my day. Those were the times when I felt that calm, wonderful feeling that tells you that you're doing what you are meant to be doing; that you shouldn't and simply can't reject or neglect it. These are the things that I live for, that truly fuel my soul and make me utterly content and peaceful inside and out. I strive to keep them alive and strong, as a way to connect with myself and others, always. They are an intricate part of who I am.

I soon joined the Saturday Market in Eugene, Oregon and began selling my crafty cuties and other artsy creations locally while attending the University of Oregon to complete my liberal arts bachelors degree. The market was such fun and I met so many awesome people who supported my work and loved my creations. Because of this, I turned back to my etsy shop confidently, adding items in my shop that I knew people would find adorable and well-made. It was during this time that I finally realized I could not live without embracing my creativity, and while I received my BA in something other than the arts, I will never again pretend that I can be happy without my creating, drawing and writing. Since then, I have been extremely happy making orders locally and online, finding new supporters and making wonderful new friends! All of this has made me realize that this is my passion and what I love to do more than anything, and I am so happy to be able to do it!
