May is extremely talented beyond belief. Every thing she creates is so ingenious. I'm so in awe of her work. She is a true original and one-of-a-kind. I'm very proud and lucky to own a few of her pieces and can't wait to see what else she creates in the future that I can add to my collection. Thank you so very much for the speedy shipment and secure packaging. You are the very BEST, May :)

This is such an amazing piece of art! I am always in awe of the creativity that May has and how her talent evolves. I have had one of her more traditional macrame pieces for awhile and was looking for a wide, horizontal piece of art to go in an empty wall space above my television, and this was the perfect size! It still gives some amazing texture with the fabric, but feels minimal and calming with the painted details and warm colors. The small weaving details are amazing. The item came packaged with SO much care as to protect the artwork and also to create a true unpacking experience for me. I love it so much & can't wait to collect more pieces!

My journey

I was born and grew up at the base of Mt. Fuji in Japan. I met my husband who is originally from San Diego, wanted to have a whole new experience in Japan in 1998. We moved to San Diego in 2004 and had a wonderful daughter together in 2008.

I am also a DIYer. My husband and I did a complete remodel of the house which was completed in 2013 March. I enjoy decorating the house so I started making my own art. I started to sell them because I wanted to share my visions with others. I see a lot of great painters, artisans, and creators on Etsy and I am so excited to be a part of it.

My inspiration comes from childhood memories and scenery that I grew up with. I spent a lot of time at my grandparents' house when I was a child. The house is more than 200 years old and known as a gathering house for the climbers of Mt. Fuji since a long time ago. Since my grandpa was a priest of Mt. Fuji, there was a private shrine in the backyard. The shrine had been always my favorite place to be and I came up with a lot of imaginary stories about it. I consider that my work is a reflection of modern vintage with a little bit of Japanese fairytale twist.

I also love Ocean, Nature, and plants and flowers. I enjoy spending time with my daughter and my little cute bunny.

Hope you enjoy my creation as much as I enjoy creating them!

Happy Etsying!
