¿Alguna vez has sentido que estabas destinado a más?
No sé ustedes, pero cada vez que persigo mis objetivos, inevitablemente aparecen obstáculos de muchas maneras diferentes: dudas, miedo a lo desconocido o incluso alguien que te dice que eres incapaz.
Desde muy joven descubrí que dibujar, pintar y diseñar me traían mucha alegría. Participé en la escena artística de mi ciudad y gané concursos de arte en la escuela, en la comunidad local e incluso en revistas nacionales.
Cuando me gradué de la secundaria, mi sueño era estudiar diseño gráfico y convertirme en diseñadora profesional. Desafortunadamente, me enfrenté a una reacción de amigos y familiares, dijeron que un título en arte sería una pérdida de tiempo y dinero. Y comencé a creerles. Estaba lleno de dudas, miedo al fracaso y aterrorizado por lo desconocido.
Abandoné mis sueños y obtuve una licenciatura en educación infantil. Sinceramente, me sentí vacío por dentro y decepcionado por haber renunciado a mi pasión. Quería sentir la alegría que sentían los demás cuando perseguían sus sueños. Sabía que estaba destinado a más, pero dudaba de mis habilidades.
Tres meses después de graduarme de la universidad todo cambió, me mudé a Texas y estaba rodeada de gente nueva y cosas hermosas. ¡Esta película me inspiró a reavivar mis sueños de convertirme en diseñador!
Comencé a diseñar invitaciones para bodas, cumpleaños y baby showers. Finalmente sintiendo la alegría que una vez sentí. ¡Sabía que encontré mi vocación en la vida!
Un día se me encendió una bombilla en la cabeza. “Te conviertes en aquello de lo que te rodeas”.
Me siento valiente cuando presencio algo audaz. Me siento libre cuando veo algo inusual, me siento inspirado y lleno de energía cuando estoy rodeado de belleza.
A partir de ese día comencé a diseñar cosas hermosas e inspiradoras para rodearme. Diseñé calendarios de escritorio, arte mural, planificadores de comidas, invitaciones de cumpleaños y gráficos educativos para mis hijos.
Cuanta más belleza produje, más belleza atraí y más belleza sintió mi alma. Mi mundo exterior finalmente reflejó la belleza de mi mundo interior.

Do you ever feel like you were meant for more?
I don’t know about you but whenever I pursue my goals, roadblocks inevitably show up in many different ways, self-doubt, fear of the unknown, or even someone telling you that you’re incapable.
At a young age, I discovered that drawing, painting, and designing brought me so much joy. I participated in the art scene in my town and won art contests at school, in the local community, and even in national magazines!
When I graduated high school, my dream was to study graphic design and become a professional designer. Unfortunately, I was faced with an onsight of pushback from friends and family, they said an art degree would be a waste of time and money. And I started to believe them. I was filled with self-doubt, fear of failure, and terrified of the unknown.
I abandoned my dreams and pursued a degree in early childhood education. Truthfully I felt empty inside and was disappointed that I'd given up on my passion. I wanted to feel the joy that others felt when they pursued their dreams. I knew I was meant for more, but I doubted my abilities.
Three Months after graduating college everything changed, I moved to Texas and was surrounded by new people and beautiful things. This movie inspired me to rekindle my dreams of becoming a designer!
I began designing invitations for weddings, birthdays, and baby showers. Finally feeling the joy I once felt. I knew I found my calling in life!
One day, a lightbulb went off in my head. “You become what you surround yourself with.”
I feel courageous when I witness something bold. I feel free when I see something unusual, I feel inspired and energized when I am surrounded by beauty.
From that day on, I started designing beautiful and inspiring things to surround myself with. I designed desk calendars, wall art, meal planners, birthday invitations, and educational charts for my kids.
The more beauty I produced, the more beauty I attracted, and the more beauty my soul felt. My outer world eventually reflected the beauty of my inner world.
