I'm so glad you're interested in Hafuboti!

My name is Rebecca and I'm an Assistant Library Director at a small public library in Nebraska. After having to discard books (either to the recycling bin or the dumpster) I realized that I could turn these unwanted books into something new and loved. I started a successful annual "Ornament Fundraiser" for our library and this year decided to also branch out with a personal Etsy shop.

Feel free to learn more about me, why my shop and ornaments have such bizarre names, and even how to make these ornaments for yourself at my blog: www.hafuboti.com

If you love my logo/banner as much as I do, then know that it's the work of the fabulous Rachel at http://www.grisgrisgraphics.com/ She was an absolute joy to work with and I'd highly recommend her for any of your graphic design needs (she designed my awesome business cards as well).

Returns and exchanges
If you're unhappy in any way with one of my products, then please let me know and I will do my best to resolve your issues as quickly as possible. I want you to have the best possible service and be happy with your purchase.

Every one of my items is one-of-a-kind, so I may not be able to replace a damaged item, but I will do my best to find you something that you would love. Otherwise I will refund you the entire cost of your purchase as well as the cost to ship the item back to me.

I believe that as time goes on I may be able to put more concrete policies in place - but for now I really want to make any issues as hassle-free as possible for you.
Payment
I do need to collect Nebraska sales tax. I've set the rate at 7% which is what it is for most of the state. However, I am aware that in some locations it is less. I will double-check all NE orders and adjust your payment accordingly if you live in any of the areas with a lower tax rate.
Shipping
I have yet to figure out how best to price my shipping since each package will weigh a little different depending on the packing (since I use my handmade crinkle cut paper for packing material). The purchase of a postal scale is imminent.

Since I have begun shipping ornaments I have discovered that First-Class is the cheapest and the option that allows me to add Delivery Confirmation to it.

Currently the rate is at $0.25 for each additional item, but that is an estimate since I have two varieties of ornaments and each weighs differently.

I will never overcharge you for shipping - I will always adjust your shipping price down to be accurate. Conversely, if I realize that I undercharged, then I will take that hit.

***International shoppers: I have never handled International Shipping before, but I'm very willing to give it a go! I used the USPS's online calculation tool to get a general idea on prices for a 4.3 ounce package (which is approximately how much a single-ball ornament shipment weighs) going via First-Class Mail International Parcel. It looks like for Canada it'd be around $3.60 and for Great Britain and Northern Ireland it would be around $6.12. If there's an ornament (or ornaments) that you're interested in and would like me to figure out how much the shipping would be, then please send me a convo and I can reserve the item for you until I have your answer. I will hopefully find out in the near future how much multiple ornaments would affect the pricing as well. Thank you for your patience with this!

Please contact me if your purchase hasn't arrived in a timely manner, or if it arrived damaged and I will do everything possible to fix the situation.
Additional policies and FAQs
I would be very happy to work with you to create a custom ornament, or to see if I could make you another desired item out of discarded books from my library. I can also see if there's a particular book available for re-purposing, but the selection is very limited and I don't want to destroy a perfectly good book just for a sale.
