A Special Story
**********************************************
In a way I cannot describe except by believing there is a purpose to everything, a beautiful Angel Son's story came to my attention. His name is Liam. Liam's mom worked with my sister and though I never met neither Liam nor his family, there was a connection when I heard his story. Liam passed away from Sudden Cardica Arrest at age 16. His mom wanted to buy one of my crosses, since it reminded her of Liam's bright sapphire blue eyes.

When I saw the order, I couldn't bring myself to keep the money, so I asked her if there was a charity I could donate the money from the purchase in Liam's honor. She told me about the fund, The Liam K. Regensburg Memorial Fund, as well as Parent Heart Watch," a national network of parents, families and partners dedicated to reducing Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) in youth." You can see a photo of Liam at parentheartwatch.org and learn about their “Legacy of the Lost”
www.parentheartwatch.org/TellingourStory/StoriesfromtheHeart

Liam was taken much too soon, but his memory lives on through his dreams, which was to give children, otherwise unable, the opportunity to attend Summer Boy Scout Camp.

The LKR Fund also sponsors periodically free EKG (electrocardiogram) screenings for youth at local schools, highlighting the importance early detection.

My heart went out to families that have had to deal with the loss of their child. I donate 10% of gross sales of all my Keepsake Art Crosses to the Liam K. Regensburg Memorial Fund. The LKR Fund is located in Oakdale, NY, near my home.

About

Unique Mosaic Art Home & Garden Decor, Unique Gifts, Keepsake Art Crosses, Mosaic Flower Pots, Functional and Fine Art Mosaics for Home and Garden

My shop has been evolving ever since I cut my first piece of glass...I began creating my Keepsake Art Crosses after having made my first one for a dear friend, whose husband passed away...she was so touched and then had others begin to ask me to make them one as well... each day I find new inspiration in functional objects I can decorate to personalize your home or garden.

My Mosaic Story began about 5 years ago as I looked for a medium that I could call my own... I started thinking about what I most liked and I kept coming back to mosaics....After living in Rome for almost a decade, I would find myself surrounded by mosaics, which were an unspoken part of the city. People would pass by and even walk on beautiful examples of cut stone walkways and patterned walls, extraordinary works of art, taking them for granted and not fully appreciating the artisanal effect this art form had on the city.

My love of mosaics was first inspired by my Sicilian roots as I was taken by my parents to ancient sites in Sicily, such as Monreale in Palermo, where the walls and floors were covered with thousands of exquisite tiny pieces of smalti glass as well as in Piazza Amerina, in the center of Sicily, where some of the best preserved mosaic floors can be found in the Villa Romana del Casale.

Drawn to forms inspired by nature, mosaic allows me a forum to explore works that are compositions in contrast. The contrast between values of light and dark, size, and textures of materials such as stone and glass are combined into motifs that explore observations found in natural patterns.

Each stone is in itself a unique element and yet together they utilize repetition and pattern to form an integrated whole.

Function and decoration become incorporated into a singular work in mosaics. This method of creating with small pieces of material has a long history and tradition, yet I find inspiration in the contemporary exploration of the form, focusing on texture, shape, size and color. The natural elements of stone, glass, cement and grout are enhanced by cut, placement and juxtaposition within a design. There is a luminous quality in the tesserae that changes in relation to your position to the work. Forming mosaics is a process that takes patience and precision, yet the result can be extremely fluid and organic.

Liam was taken much too soon, but his memory lives on through his dreams, which was to give children, otherwise unable, the opportunity to attend Summer Boy Scout Camp.

My heart went out to families that have had to deal with the loss of their child. I decided to donate 10% of the gross sales of all my Keepsake Art Crosses from then on to the Liam K. Regensburg Memorial Fund. The LKR Fund is located in Oakdale, NY, which is nearby.

They now sponsor EKG screenings in their local schools as well - "Beats for Liam" check it out on FB to prevent possible teen deaths from Sudden Cardiac Arrest.

***10% of the sales of all my crosses go to the Liam K. Regensburg Fund. Liam is a special angel son, taken much too soon, but his memory lives on through his dreams, which was to give children, otherwise unable, the opportunity to attend Summer Boy Scout Camp. The fund is based out of Oakdale, NY.

Living on the East End of Long Island in the Hamptons, known for its light and landscapes, I am inspired by a unique combination of sea, bays, farmlands and vineyards. I am drawn to the shimmer of pearlescents as well bits of mirror and metallic that catch the eye. I love color and enjoy putting together palettes of colors that work within a home setting.

  • Custom or personalized orders
  • Perishable products (like food or flowers)

  • Intimate items (for health/hygiene reasons)
I hope to make sure that you are 100% satisfied with your purchase. If, for some reason you are not, I will refund the full amount, within 1 week of delivery, minus shipping charges on READY TO SHIP items.

Sorry, but there are no refunds on Custom Orders*** once order has been placed and purchased since work has already begun in getting samples, mockups to you.

***Items that are already in production are not able to be cancelled, refunded or exchanged. Once I begin a custom piece, I will give an ESTIMATED PRICE if it's based off of an item I already have in my shop. I will offer a number of reasonable modifications so you can have exactly what you want. I create a sample with the actual pieces, just not glued down or grouted. After the 3rd revision, the estimated price of the item may change due to repeated customer changes. After 4th change, I will not continue work until item is paid for to maintain a fair balance between time spent. I take the upmost care and devote a lot of time to my pieces and hopefully that translates into unique works of art that you will be sure to cherish. Cancelled orders due to incorrect shipping info will be refunded less a $5.00 handling service charge.

If your mosaic is damaged during shipping, please send me a photograph of the piece ASAP (within 5 business days) so that we can work something out. I insure all pieces over $100 and Priority Mail insures up to $100.
Payment

Shipping
Please note the processing times for my items...these are handmade myself -the processing time is anywhere from 1 business day to 8 weeks. It is listed in the Shipping Tab. If you need it sooner, send me a note, indicating urgency and I can prioritize it...but the minimum time is 3 days, unless I happen to have one in stock. I have a Ready to Ship Shipping Time on some of my items if they are in stock, in which case I can get it out in 1-3 days. I offer Express Mail 1/2 Day Shipping Upgrades. Shipping time begins after the processing times.

Expected ship dates are provided in all listings.
**********************************************
Standard shipping is USPS Priority Mail for smaller items and FedEx Ground for larger items. USPS Priority Mail is usually 1-3 day, although United States Postal Service does not guarantee. Only way for guaranteed 1/2 day shipping is through Priority Express - upgrade available on some listings. Holiday shipping times are longer it seems from my experience, so it's best to plan ahead if possible. I try to accommodate rush orders, but cannot control the Post Office unfortunately....

** ALL ORDERS WILL BE SHIPPED TO THE ADDRESS YOU HAVE ON FILE WITH ETSY. PLEASE CHECK IT CAREFULLY TO MAKE SURE YOUR SHIP ADDRESS IS CORRECT. ANYTHING RETURNED TO ME WILL RESULT IN NEW SHIPPING CHARGES, WHICH WILL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE BUYER. **

** Any orders returned to me, will also result in delays in your order getting to you.**

We cannot guarantee delivery if we are provided with an incorrect address so please double check your address before submitting your order. I ship to the address listed on your Etsy account unless otherwise specified. Tracking numbers are provided so you'll know when to expect your order. Cancelled orders due to incorrect shipping info will be refunded less a $5.00 handling service charge.

We are NOT responsible for "lost in the mail" packages or package delays due to inclement weather. Packages can be tracked via USPS through the tracking number provided to you through shipping notifications. I usually put insurance on items greater than the standard USPS default insurance, but that doesn't help if you need your package in a hurry... again always best to plan ahead.

We cannot be responsible for shipments that take longer than expected to reach their destination, domestically or internationally. I pack all mosaics with great care so that your piece arrives safely. Large custom mirrors will be professionally packaged. I will get a pricing estimate before.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING:
I ship USPS (United States Postal Service) FIRST CLASS INTERNATIONAL TO CANADA & AUSTRALIA which does not offer exact time estimates for international destinations. In my experience it can take anywhere from 2-4 weeks to reach international destinations. Please keep this in mind when ordering and order as soon as possible!

Once a package leaves US customs it is handled by the local postal system of the destination country, so it is unable to be tracked through USPS at that point. Any customs charges on international shipping are paid by the customer. My experience has been that Australia and Canada do not charge on merchandise under a $100 USD.

I cannot be responsible for shipments that take longer than expected to reach their destination, domestically or internationally.

Canada:
•I ship USPS First Class International on Crosses and Ornaments at this time.
•Pricing is for up to 1 lb and includes the gift box.
•Shipping to Canada from US is 6-10 days but cannot be guaranteed. Tracking numbers are available though.

Australia:
•I ship USPS First Class International on Crosses and Ornaments at this time.
•Pricing is for up to 1 lb and includes the gift box.
•Shipping to Australia from US is 8-10 days but cannot be guaranteed. Tracking numbers are available though. Once packaged is listed as delivered to destination, I cannot resolve and missing packages. Check with your postal carrier.

If you are interested in my shipping something else, please message me first and I will get a shipping estimate.

I gift wrap all my frames, initials and smaller items. I will also enclose a personal note to the recipient if you are buying an item as a gift.

Shipping costs for larger items are an estimate based on location and weight. I will be happy to provide you with more detailed quote based on your zip code. I will refund the difference if the actual cost is less than the estimate.

Please do not hesitate to ask any questions....always best to know before :)
Additional policies and FAQs
10% of the sales of all my crosses go to the Liam K. Regensburg Fund.

Liam, a special angel son, was taken much too soon, but his memory lives on through his dreams, which was to give children, otherwise unable, the opportunity to attend Summer Boy Scout Camp. The LKR Fund is a local organization in Oakdale, NY, near where I live in Southampton.

I gladly make Custom Orders. If you don't see the right color combination or would prefer a different size, frame or mirror, or have an idea in mind, just send me a message. I will be happy to put together a sample board, so you can see them in person. ***Please read Refund Policies with regard to custom work above

Custom Orders will be given an estimated completion date and will update you if there are any changes. I am conservative in my estimates, so I normally ship out before the expected delivery date.
