Giving new life to clothing that deserves to breathe again.

Aaron grew up on a farm in rural Minnesota, so sewing damaged clothes was an integral part of growing up. After moving to Kyoto, he fell in love with kimono fabric and the opportunities that can be done with kimonos.

Frequently asked questions
Custom and personalized orders

Due to the nature of custom and personalized orders, we're not able to accept refunds or exchanges on these items.
We can accept cancellations if work has not yet begun on the item.

Sizing details

Our wrap skirts and pants fit a large range of sizes, so we list approximate sizing fits. If you want to ensure the article isn't too large or too small, select one smaller or one larger, respectively.

Care instructions

Almost everything we sell cannot be washed and should never touch water. Refer to each listing for cleaning instructions. The dying process of most of the fabrics we work with isn't permanent and very easily bleeds.
Oftentimes, the silk reacts very negatively with water (permanent shrinking, permanent staining, bleeding), so it's very important to not wear these clothes when it's raining or snowing and to be cautious when eating or drinking.

Custom and personalized orders

You can head to http://hanami.clothing to see some of the fabric options that we have. If you are interested in seeing more options, please contact us so we can send you a link with more fabric options.
For example, we can send you a link with images of blue kimonos and kimonos with flower patterns.
