The seller was amazing to work with. I was able to tell her my vision and she brought it to life on my toms. I'm so in love and can't wait to wear them to Disney.

Ignore the 5 star review. Instead, imagine it as a 10 star review! These shoes are PERFECT. Gill was super patient with me as I tried to send my shoes over to her, and she always made sure to give me an update. She even let me pick between 2 different BB-8 designs she had made. She made sure I was involved during every step of this process. :) If you're looking for custom painted shoes, DEFINITELY 100% go to Gill. :) I'll be recommending her to all my friends.

About

Once Upon a Time... I Joined Etsy

As far back as I can remember I've loved doing crafty type activities. All through high school I made sure to have at least one art class scattered between courses like calculus and physics, otherwise I would go insane. I've always found that when I have a paintbrush in my hand and I'm in the zone, there isn't anything that can bring me down. It's kind of like therapy for me, a finished piece of artwork can erase almost anything that had me stressed out or worried.

So one afternoon I was bored at college (and most likely procrastinating something important), and like most people that have laptops and internet capability, I found myself getting sucked into the never ending pins on pinterest. I love DIY and pinterest just gets my creative juices flowing. Two of my friends and I were surprising a mutual friend with a trip to Disney World for her birthday and we were planning quite the event to reveal the secret. I saw a few different painted shoe ideas, so I put a Disney spin on the basic concept of painting white canvas shoes. My gift to her were some Lion King themed shoes; one of her all time favorite Disney movies. Once I showed my other friends they insisted that I sell them somehow, so I came across Etsy and began my internetpreneur adventure.

I posted images of her shoes and a few others that I had done for some friends and the result was incredible. I never expected to make money doing something I loved so much and I never expected for my work to sell as well as it did. But about a year later I had painted over one hundred pairs of shoes sent all over the country and quite a few overseas. It's insane for me to think that there are people all over the place wearing my artwork. I cannot put into words how much I appreciate all the positive feedback that I have gotten and the sheer number of people who have been interested in my artistic style. It simply blows my mind.

Never in my wildest dreams did I think this would work out, but for the time being I have found quite a great little creative niche in the consumer market. And while I'm at it, I'm paying for my textbooks and a few outfits on the side. It was never, and will never really be about the money for me, but it sure is a nice bonus (:

I custom paint canvas shoes, any brand of your choosing. More expensive shoes such as toms, keds, or vans will increase the listing price so be sure to message me before you order so you order through the correct listing.

Payment
I currently accept payment in the form of credit cards and Etsy gift cards.
Shipping
I ship my packages with US Priority Mail which should get your order to you within approximately 3 days (inside the US). That seems to have been fairly consistent, but occasionally it might take longer which is unfortunately out of my control.

As for international orders the average shipping time is approximately 2-3 weeks. Make sure you take this into account when ordering because it is a factor that I cannot control.
Refunds and Exchanges
As long as a refund is requested within one or two days I should be able to make it work. Unfortunately due to the custom aspect of the shoes once you receive them I cannot take any returns, I do apologize for any inconvenience. I would be happy to show you photos along to way to be sure that you will love the final product, just shoot me a message to make sure that I know you would like me to do this. Thanks for understanding!

If in the case of the item being lost in the mail, I provide tracking numbers with each order, so if this does not solve the issue then I would be happy to work something out with you, because that would be out of my hands.
Additional policies and FAQs
One question I get asked more than any other is; are the shoes waterproof?

Yes, I use acrylic paint, which by nature is waterproof and fabric inks which are made for fabrics and do not wash out. If you live in a particularly wet area I would suggest spraying them with a waterproofing spray such as scotch guard for extra protection. I would like to remind you that these shoes are still only made of canvas and are in fact a work of art, so be sure to remember that when you are wearing them.

If you need to wash your shoes I would suggest doing so very carefully with a wet rag or paper towel and allowing them to fully air dry. I would avoid using any kind of cleaners because the chemicals may react negatively to those in the paint and inks that I have used. Your best bet is good ol' H2O (:
