About Handcraefter

Sales 5,302
On Etsy since 2017

Handcraeft: a place for makers. 🖤 Traditional making meets modern practice.

Welcome to Handcraeft! I come from a family of sewers and stitchers, and I can't even remember a time in my life when I wasn't excited about sharing handmade goodies, projects and supplies with friends and fellow creative folks. It's in my blood. I remember making friendship pins with seed beads and safety pins for my friends, tethering long strands of embroidery threads to my acid washed jeans to make friendship bracelets with my sisters, painting ceramic unicorns and Christmas decorations. I remember the first wicker basket I received from my mom with needles, thread, plastic canvas and aida cloth. Making is more than just passing time or finding cool trinkets. It's about tradition, making memories, creating community, taking time for yourself, practicing new skills, and passing on something meaningful to your loved ones.

Handcraeft is so near and dear to me, and it's changed over time as my life and interests have evolved. Now that I have a little one who's old enough to make on her own, I take great pleasure in exposing her to different ways of making things and seeing her find joy through the process of making.

All the supplies I offer in my shop are those that I've used and trust myself. My mother owned a quilt store for a decade, and in that time, I learned the value of cultivating trust and good relationships with your patrons. I promise to offer you fair prices, and most importantly, to always provide you kind and thoughtful service.

I'm so happy you've come, and I look forward to sharing my things with you. Thanks for being here! 🖤

I'm passionate about stitching with beautiful fibers and textiles, and I'm here to share my passion with you. I love small handstitched projects, wool appliqué, sashiko, and experimenting with natural dyes and cotton fabrics. Welcome!

Frequently asked questions
Is the buyer responsible for any customs duties and import taxes?

Yes. Depending on what the policy is in your country, and the purchase price of your order, you may be required to pay customs duties and/or import taxes. Seller is not responsible for these fees or delays due to customs holds.

Do you include a printed receipt with shipped items?

I am now required by the postal service to include a printed invoice in packages that are mailed to destinations outside the European Union. For all destinations within the EU, I will not include a printed receipt.

Do you include tracking information for all shipped items?

Orders are sent via standard postal mail (€4.95) from The Netherlands, which does NOT include tracking*. You may upgrade your shipping to include tracking at checkout. This is the only way to add tracking to your package.

I will include the parcel number for your package, which is printed on the shipping label directly under the barcode, when I send your shipping confirmation. This parcel number serves as proof of shipping, but the parcel number will only be connected to tracking information if you upgrade your shipping to include it. Otherwise, the parcel number will not be found within the PostNL system if it is not assigned tracking with scanning. Let me know if you have any questions!

*Tracked shipping is required for some countries.

The shipping cost to my country is €16.90. Why?

Tracked shipping is required for parcels to certain countries. If the shipping cost to your country is €16.90, then tracking is included and you will be provided with a tracking number to follow the progress of your package.

In all other countries, standard shipping with no tracking is offered at a fixed rate of €4.95. If you want to be able to track your package, you will need to choose tracked shipping (€16.90) at checkout.

Where is my order? When will it arrive?

In my experience, mail delivery worldwide is very reliable. Once I put your package in the mail, we're at the mercy of the mail services in both my country and yours. Unless you add tracking to your order at checkout, it is sent via standard postal mail, which cannot be tracked. Please know that during the COVID-19 crisis, packages can delayed by several weeks. It is not possible for me to know or be able to give an update about where your package is once it's been mailed.

Will I get a refund for my lost package?

Refunds can only be given for lost packages or returns if your item has been returned to me in its original condition.

Are there delays due to COVID-19?

As COVID persists, unexpected delays are always a possibility. Upgrading your shipping to include tracking when you checkout is a great way to be able to keep an eye on the status of your package.

I know there are delays due to COVID-19, but I feel like it's taking too long. What can we do?

I know. It's frustrating to be kept waiting! It's frustrating for me, too, as I am proud of the quality of my products & service and I want you to receive your items as quickly as possible. The mail service is, however, completely out of my control, and the pandemic can conditions to be disrupted along the shipping chain.

These extraordinary times call for extraordinary measures, and I ask for your patience and flexibility. If you are concerned, please reach out. I comply with Etsy's window for refunds, which is 180 days from the date your payment was processed, so you don't have to worry that by continuing to wait, you'll forego your right to ask for a refund if your order is truly lost in the mail.

Why is Etsy asking me to review my items before I've received them?

I know it can be aggravating to receive a prompt to review your item(s) when you haven't yet received them. Etsy's system will automatically prompt you to do so at the end of the estimated delivery timeframe, and it doesn't know whether or not you've already received your order. Since the coronavirus crisis began earlier this year, orders almost always arrive past that timeframe. Reviews are highly valuable, and serve to not only inform your consumer peers of your experience with the quality of products and service I provide, but they also inform Etsy of the same information. I do my best to prepare and post your order carefully and expeditiously, and am always here to help and support you.

Is express shipping available?

Yes. Express shipping is available, and the price depends on what zone your country is in. If you're interested in express shipping, which can make possible delivery of your goods in a matter of days, please get in touch and I can check the rates for you. Please know that during the coronavirus crisis, shipping times cannot be guaranteed, even by the postal services. Conditions can arise in my country or yours, or somewhere along the way, that can cause delays for numerous reasons. I can only offer you what's possible. Thanks for understanding!
