About

I started making ornaments because I wanted to "build a better mousetrap".

I first started making Christmas ornaments when I was in college. During Christmas vacations, Mom would give me Styrofoam balls along with sequins, pins, braid, and ribbon. I would remember thinking "This is festive, but they deserve more pizzazz!
After college, a friend of the family showed me how to cover the Styrofoam with moistened Swiss straw. I was hooked and spent evenings and weekends making ornaments.
During the next 50 years, my ornaments have steadily became more eclectic. Besides the aforementioned Swiss straw, I have used felt, calico, and, more recently, velvet. I have also used commercially-produced satin ornaments. In decorating my ornaments, I have used materials acquired during my travels. Incidentally, these ornaments are my own design!
Over the years, I have given these ornaments as gifts to friends and relatives. Now I have come to the conclusion that I would have to either change my friends and relatives, or sell them!
Since I relocated to New Hampshire after retiring from my job as a federal librarian, I have participated in craft fairs at the local fire station and at my parish church. I have recently been advised that I need to expand my horizons.
These ornaments are made in a smoke-free home. However, I do have a cat, who is a great companion and who likes to be "in" on everything I do.
These ornaments contain small parts and are not recommended for households with children under 3,

Frequently asked questions
Gift wrapping and packaging

I will ship your purchase using recycled materials, if available. It will be packed in a plastic bag, which can be used for storage. I will attach a hanger loop to the ornament so you can display it, either by hanging on a tree or displaying in a window or alcove. I will wrap the ornament inside the bag using tissue paper & wrap the bagged ornament in bubble wrap to ensure the ornament arrives safely.

Please notify me if the ornament is to be used as a gift for someone else.
