Frequently asked questions
Caring for my handmade ukulele

A handmade ukulele needs more specific care than factory built, laminate or other instruments.

Do not expose to sudden changes in temperature or humidity, this can seriously damage a handmade ukulele.

From time to time you may need to clean and treat the fretboard, Stringit & Strumit recommend using a specific Ukulele Fretboard Treatment for this purpose.

Caring for my Buskbox or Bassbox

Every now and again you might like to bring the shimmer back to your Stompbox.

Simply take some Wire Wool or a Scourer Pad to the surface, rubbing in one direction. This will brighten up the brushed aluminium.

How to use Stringit & Strumit's Ukulele Fretboard Treatment

Evenly loosen the strings on your ukulele, until you can easily move them to the side or take them out of the tuners completely.

Apply a small amount of Stringit & Strumit's Ukulele Fretboard Treatment onto a clean White Cotton cloth/rag.

Spread the oil evenly across the entire fretboard, leave for a few minutes to absorb, then wipe of any excess.

Allow to dry fully and then retune your ukulele strings.
