Picks from the Shop Owner
Meet the Owner of HandmadeandCraft
owner, maker, designer, Blogger
I first found Etsy in 2008, just as winter finally made it's way to our home state of Florida. As a homeshcool mom of two boys I was looking for ideas that were fun, educational, and might help pad the Christmas gift budget. Etsy was a perfect fit and my first shop specialized in Felt Hair Clips in all sorts of cute patterns.
(I actually had a book of patterns published later! You can buy it in many bookstores, or directly from me here in my Etsy shop: https://www.etsy.com/listing/112805335/34-felt-projects-and-patterns-from-felt )
Little did we know at the time that our entire life course was in the process of changing with the opening of that little shop. Hoping to get the word out about our new venture, we discovered blogging which is now a huge part of what we do every day (yes, for a living!).
We blog about Etsy and all things handmade and creative at EverythingEtsy.com and HandmadeandCraft.com and through years of blogging have found great friends in social media. I'm @EverythingEtsy
As the years passed we enjoyed selling a few different types of items on Etsy including felt hair clips, custom lavender sachets, handmade jewelry, and felt crafting supplies. At one point, I had three or four shops going at once!
In late 2012 we combined all of the products we were selling into one shop, HandmadeandCraft.etsy.com . About that same time, we also started offering an assortment of in-house custom designs and sayings transferred onto quality canvas tote bags.
Our goal through everything has always been to inspire and uplift others in the handmade community and the tote bags are a perfect way to do just that. Our most popular saying, "I'm so crafty, I sweat glitter!" speaks volumes about the wonderful people shopping with us on Etsy.
We encourage you to browse our shops, check out our blogs, find us on social media and reach out with any questions or helpful comments!
Thanks so much for being here today!
