I have not used this spindle yet, but wanted one for specifically for spinning cotton. I may use it when I try to spin silk also. I looks exactly as pictured and delivery was as expected (good). With such a pointed base, I may consider getting a small bowl to work with a more controlled spinning (hopefully).
